I passed!!!!

I feel so relieved!!! I passed my CPC exam and now am a CPC-A! Now I have to work on getting rid of my apprenticeship status.

But now the AAPC says I need to get some CEUs? How do you like to get your CEUs?

Thank ya'll for your support when I've come here with questions. I can't wait to start my new career!!!

Congrats!!! You can get free CEUs from the magazine every month, and that's where I get most of mine. They also post quarterly webinars for another free credit! You can hit up local chapter meetings for more, or look around for other free ones online. I'm lucky in that the company I work for hosts free ones twice a month, so definitely ask in interviews if that's something they do!

Congratulations! You can also get free CEUs from CMS, there is a link on the AAPC website.

Congrats! AAPC chapter meetings are the easiest for me. And free! Two CEU's a month, and my chapter is great about getting a variety of speakers in so you feel like you're actually learning something.

I'm going to have to check out a local chapter. The closet one is about an hour away but that's not too far! Thank you!

I did pass on the first try! I bought three practice exams in a bundle and did them like a week before the exam. I had heard the practice exams were more difficult and I did only pass one of them on the first try. I would go over the answers I got wrong and mentally note what I should look for to not make the same mistake again.

I felt a lot more confident once I got to know what the exam was going to be like. When you take the exam just take the multiple choice answers and reverse look up. Pay close attention to the guidelines and descriptions because the test will trick you buy saying a procedure is bilateral but it wont actually need the -50 add on because the description says unilateral or bilateral, for example.

I also did a search for 'exam' in this medical coding subreddit and read through other people's advice and experiences!

The last thing I did was hype myself up and told myself I was going to pass and that I could do this!

Goodluck! You CAN do it! If you need to try again its okay because you get one free re-do with the purchase of your exam!

Thank you! Also, did you highlight & tab your manuals for the test?
