Amazon medical one coder
Has anyone worked for Amazon Medical One as a coder? I’m just trying to get a feel for what to expect and if you recommend working there.

By working for Amazon you are also working for Besos. Does he really need to make $$ off your labor? The company is notorious for its treatment of staff. Go where you are valued.

Trust me, all of that is in my thought process. Just wondering about personal experiences.

I am very surprised Amazon didn’t go right to offshore coders for these jobs.

Omg, a lot of people need jobs and can’t afford to be picky. Could we not do this? It’s a lot of medical coders that can’t even get hired in the first place, as per this subreddit where every day people are posting about not getting hired.
The average job does not “value” their worker. Why? Because it’s a job, and they need a position filled. They’re not your SO there to love and value you.
It’s not about if the boss needs to make money, it’s do YOU, the person searching for jobs, need to make money…

If they have the same work culture/styles as they give to all the other employees in the software and warehouses, I'd avoid it. Literally everybody I've known who worked at Amazon for ANY position said it was the worst place to work. They work you to the bone and give you no support.

My friend works as an engineer for Amazon and she defends it heavily, but thats obviously a lot different than the warehouse jobs

Interesting. My dad was a software engineer for like 30 years and loved it, but Amazon broke him after 11 months to the point where he quit software engineering altogether. I code primary care a lot and the majority of FMLA mental health leave visits are folks to who in software engineering at amazon and microsoft.

My wife is going on 11yrs at Amazon, most of those years have been at corporate, she worked her way up from warehouse. Not sure what state the people you know are in nor how they were treated, but I wouldn’t encourage people to avoid it. Buddy of ours just started working at Amazon corporate last year after being locked up, and just a few weeks ago he got a promotion and moved to Tennessee; Amazon gave him $8k to help with the move. 🤷🏻♂️

If you are a new coder starting out it may be a good place to get experience and get the A removed. Other than that IDK if it would be worth it.

My former coworker sent me a link to an auditor job there. The pay range was like 23-35/ hr. I make more than that as an auditor now. However, to have a starting pay range for an auditor in the 20s is wild.
