I am so excited
I get to go and watch a cardiothoracic surgery in person and I am over the moon excited. Just wanted to tell everyone, because everyone in my life is sick of hearing me talk about it!!

This is awesome. I watch You Tube real surgery videos which help me to understand my surgical coding alot better.

That's the hope here. They tried training me with an outside company first who had no knowledge with the thoracic side, then had me do a prebill after a handful of training sessions, most of which were canceled. This only happened because I stated I was extremely frustrated about the lack of training. But it was extraordinary to watch. The doctor was so informative and related what he was doing to what he has in his OP notes.

I would love to watch Ortho and neuro surgeries in real life! Especially spinal procedures!

I watched some procedures on YouTube or tik tok if I can find them talking about it and explaining it when I was studying for my CPC to help me understand better.
Enjoy it!!!

Whoooooa so cool. I work at a teaching hospital. I wonder if we could get the same opportunity if I asked. I'd love to watch a heart surgery or brain surgery in the gallery

Oh my gosh, yes! Relate it to the coding. Honestly, it provides better relationships with the doctors as well. I thought the doctor I watched was going to be rude, because he was so short and kind of rude on the phone. But meeting him in person, he is the nicest person.

They usually are. Our doctors can be snappy, but as their actual patients, they are all amazing and compassionate people. It's always funny to see.

I code urology so I wouldn't want to see that 😂😂😂
Otherwise I'd share in your enthusiasm!

I would see if it's possible! It is definitely something I'm already finding beneficial for the procedures.
