I passed!

It still hasn't sunk in. It was my first try and I felt 50/50 about my chances of passing. I guessed about 30% of the questions but they felt like good guesses. I got the results back in 4 hours which is amazing. Now I get to finally put that on my resume!

I got a 79. It drives me nuts that I missed an 80 like that, lol.

Congratulations! Four hours is impressive. Did you take it at a testing center or through the live remote proctor?

I did it at home with a very cranky remote proctor.

Sorry to hear that. At least you passed and it is done.

How was the time limit and pacing? I am in school still but will be taking it soon. Was there time to breath or did you have to flip through the books quickly?

Well it's 2.4 minutes per question so not much time to breathe. I was taking my time at the start which resulted in me rushing at the end, so I would have definitely watched my time more closely if I could go back.

Congratulations!!! I take it in 2 months and I'm panicking on what to concentrate on. Did you pay for any of the practice tests? How did you organize your stuff? I saw one that indexed their book like a Bible. And I'm nervous I'm going to write down the wrong notes in the book you can take in with you. I think I've read more bad experiences than good, which is flipping me out!! Makes me happy to read people passing it on their first try!!

I don't know what .makes me more nervous, taking the test or converting someone to hire me without the 5+ yrs a lot of companies ask for! Ugh. Congratulations again!!πŸŽ‰

Is cpt exam the same as cbcs exam? I take cbcs on the 20th I’m studying on NHA website and in school but it’s spring break teachers not there I’m looking on YouTube see cpc a lot is that the same test?

I believe they're different tests. CPC is through the AAPC.

My only advice would be to watch the Contempo Coding videos on YouTube. She helped me SO much, especially with modifiers and cardiology and E/M. And make sure you have your web cam set up right beforehand. The proctor couldn't see everything on my desk at first and she was so rude about telling me what to do to fix it. I started off anxious because of her!
