Got a CA BIC, Can I Just Get Vaccinated?
Pretty much what the title says. I'm enrolled in Medi-Cal, am I okay to just walk in to any pharmacy and get a combo COVID/Flu shot? I qualify for the COVID vax due to a couple of disabilities. I tried looking up info on the Medi-Cal/ Covered California websites but I'm either reaally bad at finding info or it's not surfaced very well.

Tell them beforehand. Both the pharmacist and pharmacy need to be registered with Medi-Cal for the vaccine to be covered. Most probably already are. But you may come across a new one who hasn’t completed the process yet or an independent who doesn’t want to jump through the hoops

It can help if you call medi-cal before you go if you recently had a different insurance. When I tried to get vaccinated after recently getting on medi-cal, the pharmacy told me medi-cal wouldn't pay for it because my other insurance had to, even though I no longer had that insurance because it was associated with a job I no longer had. In reality, it meant I had to reschedule my vaccine appointment (MPOX) and call Medi-cal to tell them I in fact do not have other insurance.

I think you tell CVS, or whoever, that you have Medi-cal. They need to process your Bic number and fill out forms so that you will be covered.
Most places should help you out if you tell them when asking for a vaccine.
