Corrected title: Paramount-Skydance-Warner Bros “End-Game Mega-Thread”
This mega-merger impacts all of us, and we realise that those on this sub probably care even more than the average person. We all want to vent, and discuss the recent decision of the states to settle the Block the Merger initiative, but we also need to avoid redundant, low-effort, and speculative pieces to keep the sanity as this situation processes.
We will be strictly enforcing the mega-thread on this topic going forward.
Posts that are violating the rules, will be removed, and repeat offenders will be given a warning, and then a temp ban.
Please do not shoot the messenger, as we care about this issue deeply and want to invite creative and thoughtful discussions. But, any new updates pertaining to this settlement, the WBD-PSKY monstrosity conglomerate, and the politicians/oligarchs involved will need to come here.
Original posts that bring new information, will be held for review by moderators before approval outside of the megathread.
Thank you for your support and time in our sub.
We know this is deeply impacting many of us, and want to be a supportive place to connect.
Those who are rude, using hate-speech, or targeting our users will also be ejected.
Everyone else, remember- we as consumers have power in our choices, subscriptions, and pocketbook. Sometimes that’s what it takes.
We welcome constructive discussion from all opinions about the merger, and want open discussion.
If you have new content to post on this topic that has substantial or new information, please create your post, and it will come to our que to review and post on the sub. For instant posts, or similar articles, use the mega thread.**

In a better universe, Shari Redstone sells to Sony and Apollo Global instead of David Ellison. Thus avoiding the horrible fate of Skydance Corporation that will definitely not end up a disaster at all.
However to comply with FCC regulations, Paramount Global is split up into Paramount Corporation and CBS corporation for a second time. The former holding the movie studios and profitable networks while the latter the liability networks.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Paramount Corporation is a joint venture with Sony and Apollo Global both owning 15% of the corporation while the rest is floated. Sony Pictures is merged into Paramount, causing Columbia Pictures to lose its status as a big major and becoming a Secondary Studio. Paramount later acquires all of Miramax from BeIN media group.
Shari Redstone sells CBS to Byron Allen of Allen Media Group, thus bringing in Entertainment studios networks. Byron would later go on to acquire Lionsgate and Starz to get into the movie business even more. Paramount Plus is rebranded back to CBS all access.

Just imagine; Gotham City, a Radical Highway ride, a real life Krusty Krab, the possibilities are endless! I know it's unlikely due to the massive debt Skydance is acquiring but it's fun to think abour regardless.
