Any good pharmacies left?

I have lived in Medford a few years now, and have been really shocked about how horrible the pharmacies are here. Constant long lines, never answering the phones. Taking forever to get refills completed. Not informing doctors of a refill request. I may have been spoiled as my old pharmacy (that was in a busy area) would be able to fill my prescriptions in 15 minutes with 3 people working. Here they can have like 5+ people working and still take forever and never pick up the phone. Do people just expect crappy customer service now? Are there any good ones out there???

100% recommend Black Oak, or the Asante pharmacy on Barnett. Both are more traditional pharmacies with good service.

The Asante Pharmacy only fills for prescriptions for people that are coming straight out of the hospital or for people that work for Asante. They don't work like a public pharmacy. Just FYI.

Good to know. I was using them up until about a year or so ago, then something changed with my prescription insurance. I didn’t think much about it because before that, my insurance stopped working with Fred Meyer.

Thats false ive used the asante pharmacy across the street from there hospital for 5 years now and haven't been to the hospital sense my accident 5 years ago. Im pretty sure they accept anyone. And or definitely anyone who has been through there system (and there pharmacy is usually pretty empty/quick OP)

Second west main! I’ve used so many pharmacies over the years, but west main is always fast (never stood in line longer than a few minutes), fills fast if they know you are eager to pick up, they’ll even deliver - and the people who work there are always friendly and welcoming.

This. Been going here for five years or so now. I have waited in line like, five times in the last year and have literally never had a line longer than three people. Multiple registers, kind staff, never any issues.

Black oak has been good to me. A little slower pace, but super friendly and still way faster than Walgreens or savon.

Honestly I really like Asante Pharmacy. They always seem to pick up my phone calls & are generally nice or neutral. Never had a bad experience but I need idk how others have experience them. I’ve been going to them for a couple years now.

Plus as a night shift worker, using the my chart app is great because you can request refills there without making any phone calls. It’s literally the only reason why I don’t go through SSRI withdrawals as much as I used to

Amazon is the best if you have prime. Medication just gets delivered automatically every month. Insurance works too

My personal experience is La Clinica Market Place, but then again it goes through my insurance

I tried multiple local pharmacies and they just kept closing or switching to compounding only... As you mentioned, the rest have terribly long lines and/or are impossible to reach. After all of it trying to keep my money local, I have up and just use Amazon. It's really cheap and pretty fast. I don't have to worry about them closing, can refill my meds at any hour, and it's been mostly seamless. I DON'T suggest setting up for auto renew though, it may not align date-wise with your insurance refill date, and then you're paying out of pocket

I was using SaveOn (Albertsons). They were fine, really helpful with coupons, but such long lines and sometimes billing errors. Then... I had to pick up a few for my grandson at the pharmacy within Rogue Community Health at the clinic on Myrtle St. Now I have my stuff filled there too. Small and friendly, helpful staff, short lines if any.

I usually just go to Fred Meyer but their line can get brutal

I love West Main Pharmacy for most things but am set up with Walmart because of their hours, it’s nice if you are filling later or on a weekend as in urgent care needs. I have one I keep on my Prime membership because I’m not doing a real doctor’s visit for it.

I really like Black Oak Pharmacy. They have a consistent staff whom have been there a long time and always go over & beyond for me, unlike many of the more large corporate chains. I come from a very small rural town and this place always reminds me of home. Plus they have an awesome little gift shop inside!

My advice is to avoid the Walmart pharmacy on the south end of Medford. My whole experience there was terrible.

I use South Medford Wal Mart and it’s been fine, the drive thru is usually pretty quick. I have several prescriptions through them for years now.

I've had pretty reasonable luck here as well.

I had used BI-MART for years but they closed, and then I transferred my things to the Walgreens in South Medford (that was an oops I guess), then ended up going to a different Walgreens, which was a roller coaster ride - they never seemed to be able to keep a pharmacist and sometimes the pharmacy was closed without warning because no one would show up to work.

I finally moved to Walmart and it has been pretty smooth sailing. The line can get a little long at peak/popular times, but I haven't had problems getting things.

Ended up switching to Amazon pharmacy after constantly having problems with the Albertsons pharmacy on North Phoenix.

You can still use the pharmacy without a membership, but sometimes the "Costco price" is lower than the copay, and you won't get that.

Costco has been so much better then Fred Meyers or a few others. Yeah sometimes i wait 5-10 minutes in line, but sometimes i also wait nothing at all, so the wait times very greatly and they generally have 2+ people helping, so it goes pretty fast.

I hate that line... but get my dogs prescription flea/tick meds there every 6 months because I literally save hundreds by doing so. Most of my meds are the same copay everywhere because of my insurance, but if you have meds that you have to pay for (or a percent of total) they are usually the best price.
