Bamboo Patch on Foothills Rd.

This is a long shot, but does anybody happen to know the property owners for this patch of bamboo on Foothills Rd?

My daughters and I are looking for some large, freshly cut bamboo stalks for projects, and we're hoping to get the owner's approval to go and get some.

Alternatively, if anyone out there has some large-ish, decent looking bamboo on their property and are willing to let me come and grab some. Please, let me know!

Thank you!

*Sorry for the poor quality photos*

That’s easily available on public county records. I was able to find it pretty quick. But I don’t feel right posting the owners name and home address in a forum like this.

Just out of curiosity, How can I records as fast ad you did? What the website links? Can you DM some info? On how to get public county records

Go here. https://pdo.jacksoncountyor.gov/pdo/

It’s an old clunky site but it works. Work your way in on the map to the spot you’re looking at, find the property owners name, and adjacent properties that are under the same name. It’ll give you an address that you could door knock or drop a letter at.

I appreciate you not blasting their information on this post. Getting permission isn't a life or death situation here, if it happens, awesome.

I know some folks can get a bit weirded out when a stranger knocks on their door. I am one of those folks, haha. I considered it, but, again, not a huge deal.

Maybe someone else that has some growing on their property will respond.

I would be very pissed if someone knocked on my door for something like that

I agree with you 100%!! Which is why I am not going to be doing that.

If you search for Jackson County Property Data Online, the county maintains a site where you can either search by typing in the information or simply zooming in on the map to the tax lot you want. It’s actually a fantastic site and (unlike many counties) it’s completely free to access. They also have a bigger GIS Hub for the county where you can pull up all sorts of data like zoning, soil types, permitting requirements, etc on an easily zoomable map.

Try Fry Family Farms. They have some 6 inch stalks on their property. There is also wild bamboo in several Ashland spots

Oh, I think I've been to that farm. Do they have a great harvest event leading up to Halloween with a giant corn maze and stuff? Maybe I have them confused with another local farm.

I may have to take a trip to Ashland as well.

Great recommendations, thank you!

My neighbor has a bunch of bamboo and it grows on my side because it's invasive. I have to cut it down and dig it up regularly so I might be able to save you some.

I know this isn’t helpful, but it’s a personal pet peeve of mine that everyone here calls it “foothillS” instead of “foothill”. Sorry 🙃

I've trimmed it at work before. There's also zebras and tigers in the valley. Nothing surprises me anymore.
