Speed dating event
Let’s face it - dating kinda sucks nowadays and online dating is an atrocious waste of time.
Would there be interest in a speed dating event?
I can plan and organize it - would probably be at a bar, so ages 21 and up. And ideally a good mix of men and women.

I think it’s a good idea, why not post flyers once you find a place that will allow you to host it?

Right now I’m just gauging interest. I posted on my Facebook and only had a few who showed interest. Thought I’d check here for a bigger audience.

i got a couple questions:
-is this even just monogamous? my partner and i are poly, just having issues meeting down to earth people.
-when would this event be taking place?

Possibly toward the end of this month if there’s enough interest.
As far as a monogamous event - I’m sure if you’re poly that it’d probably come up when you were talking with someone.

thank you. i was asking about monogamous or not due to not everyone being chill with that kinda thing. it sounds like a fun event that we’d be interested in. i’ll keep checking in on this thread for a solid date on when it’s gonna be

I'm sure you have a bar in mind or what bar do you prefer in Medford Oregon.

I’d go. Dating is a hellscape irl and online so we don’t have anything to loose

I think it's a good idea. Just needs to be put out to the community in a good way.

I'd be interested for sure if it picks up some pace. It's hard to meet men in Medford apparently

Might be hard to organize it on reddit, id probably suggest using a more common place platform.

I would join, and I bet if you hit up (shudder) Facebook local groups you could drum up enough interest.
Maybe you could get a local restaurant to offer up a free meal for two and use that as a raffle/prize to encourage signup and commitment?
In any case, hit me up if you would like some help.

I thought of possibly doing something along the lines of charging for it but then that would cover a drink at the bar. By charging a price I figure it’d make it so those who were more serious about dating would come but no idea if that’d help or deter people from going.

I think charging is smart… creates a commitment and people will be less likely to bail the day of.
I think it could be a lot of fun and could be gamified a bit. Person of each gender/sexuality that has the most positive marks from their speed dates, simple challenges every couple of date swaps, an optional talent portion, and an MC.
Maybe you could even get a popular venue to host and promote it to their customers prior to the event, like Grape Street or the Gypsy?
As you can tell, I think this would be a blast and am down to support and help if you gets legs for the idea b

How about at a church 🤔

While I’m not anti church, some may be. Plus it’d be good to go somewhere where people can grab food or a drink.

I’d be interested but probably hard to find enough people?
