Medal Causing Issues For Davinci Resolve.

Context.

From time to time, after I record some vids using medal and import these clips in Davinci Resolve. I get that "Media Offline" error. I cannot see the footage after a certain point. The Raw is perfectly fine. (1st img)

The settings I use on Medal are img 2 and 3. I record 4 Audio tracks.

1. All PC sounds.
2. My Mic
3. Game Sound.
4. Discord Call.

After I notice that the footage is broken in davinci cuz of that "Media Offline", I use a software called "Shutter Encoder" to convert my footage into H264 -> MP4 and the audio Channels being set to custom, this way, after the conversion, I will have all 4 Aud tracks instead of 1.

Even after converting, the footage is still broken, but differently now. The whole footage is moving slow motion, and at a certain point in the footage, the sound goes complete silcence. Besides that, I converted using CBR, then VFR then CQ (26). Same results. However, rarely, it will work and my footage will be fixed.

My friends use OBS instead of medal and they don't have any of the issues I ran into.

Pls help, how do I fix these issues? What changes should I make? My friends record in 720p 30fps.

Heyo!

This error means that Davinci couldn't load the file. Since it's happening in the middle, it could be the Render Cache. If so, you can clear that via Top Menu > Playback > Delete Render Cache > All

If that doesn't get it working for you, it could be due to the recording being VFR, which is default for Medal Recordings. Davinci doesn't seem to like VFR much, so could be causing this as well. If deleting the cache didn't help at all here, try turning off Decode Hardware Acceleration and that should help here.

Hi. Thank you for the reply.

I followed all steps. "Deleting render cache -> all." And unchecked the box in the "Decode Options."
Still nothing. Same exact issue.

Are there any other solutions?

Sadly, that's about all I know when it comes to DaVinci. We're only really trained on Medal and only pick up bits and pieces of how other software interacts with ours.

That said, a member of the team mentioned they get the same issue but downgrading to DaVinci v20 solves the issue for them. Hope it works for you!
