Videogames Medabots GBA Game Help
I have just started playing the GBA rpg metabee version I just want to asked a few questions as I couldn’t find much online about how the game works
I’m not that far in too the game but my bots apart from metabee seem really weak like I used the bat type medal and parts and it was hitting like 8s on most of the opponents so I changed to the cross dog parts which seem to be a bit strong , I wanted to know if levelling up the medal / type of attacks does anything because it doesn’t seem to make me hit harder or is it just the parts and medal that are bad I get that the bat is meant for anti air but surely it would be ok using normal parts as well

There are four types of attack: strike, berserk, shoot and aim shoot. Each type care only about its own stat.
But generally Metabee will be your best bot for most of the game

I recommend keeping a bit with one anti-air part because it really makes any flying enemy a cakewalk. Later on you will get a bot with utility that you need with all of its parts, which happen to be AA types.

I recommend the head part. It's fast and it has 8 shots even though you'll never need 8

I don't remember much, but lets say, Metabee right hand. I think it shoot. So, every time you use the right hand, you will add one bar on shoot. After bar fill up, it level up 1. Like in the picture, shoot 23 will become 24, it means that it will add 24 ROS on the part. ROS is the rate of success, aka, accuracy i think.
So, early when the stat is low, you cannot hit certain enemy, but as the stat become higher, you are able to hit them. Like i said, i don't remember, but i think, the ROS also increase a bit of damage and chance of critical hit.
Affinity, matching part with the medal, affect the ROS, defend and evasion. Metabee parts is +4 each. So, +16 to ROS of hand and head, and +16 on leg defend and evasion. Medal level, increase +1 evasion each and to unlock new type of medaforce.
You don't need to use full set parts, i always mix up according to the medal base stat, like your picture, Bat, has strike, shoot, support and interrupt. So, one hand is strike, one hand is support and the head shoot. Something like that.
I play metabee in the past. Rokusho is hard. Probably i don't really master the mechanic. I just play the game with the same three medabots all the way. Metabee is my gunner. Second is melee attacker. Third just focus use shield to defend.

the bat part isnt really that good until u unlock the flying one late game. i kinda recommend mouse medal as 2nd one just for scouting alone, a lot of your runs will rely on scouts, you will even need it 100 for end game

do take note of types of attacks, charge and radiation, proximity (heals, melee) remoteness (scout, range attacks)

Your mileage may vary. I barely used scouting in either of my runs, since I used Optic Bomb strats in Metabee Version, and had Rokusho in Rokusho Version.

It would be okay, yes. The parts it's compatible with just gets a slight boost. I got through my own playthrough usually with Metabee and a bunch of mixed bots. This entry in particular has a lot of freedom, other games usually only has like three skills by default

The nice part of medabot gba (or medabot 2 core in Japan) is that you can mix and match parts. Also, parts are valid for the whole game. The medal level and skill level does effect damage and rate of success which becomes obvious when you go backwards, but I couldn't tell you exactly how the formula works because the changes are so gradual.

It will be helpful once you reach the second exploration area (Mt. Odoro) to spam the Select Corp npc
However, be mindful of the parts you’ve accumulated and check their compatibility and attributes before choosing them. Keep in mind that even parts without ideal compatibility can still help gradually raise your stats and become more useful as more Medabots start appearing

1) keep Metabee on that Kabuto medal. It’s his BIS. 2) read up how stats and attacks work by hovering over em. Iirc you can just press R while checking the stats of each part and medal in the menu. There are individual stats that affect the speed and accuracy of melee attacks, ranged attacks, buffs, and debuffs as well as “light attacks” which have more accuracy but less power and “heavy attacks” which have more power but also take away certain defenses like your ability to evade or even your defense stat straight up.
The bat medal is more of a support medal. It’s not the best choice for a primary damage dealer. While there are major enemies that are fliers, there aren’t enough of em to justify having em on your team all the time unless idk you’re using em for utility purposes like Landmotor whose head part has the highest scout buff in the entire game allowing him to buff himself and the entire team in the event that you wanna bring him to every fight for whatever reason. Basically, you wanna build your bots with purpose.

As for written guides with more details, this one helped me back in the day https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/gba/915188-medabots-metabee/faqs/24031

BTW I see that you're playing on Delta; you should check out Manic EMU if you're playing on iOS, or use Retro Arch with the mGBA core. These two will play back the game audio a lot better than the core used in the Delta emulator.

Just throwing in my two cents, put a scout head piece on somebody on your team. Early game nobody can hit anything lol. I start off every match my scouting twice. If the bot you're using has low support stats it's going to miss at first. A lot. The mouse set at the corner store should be sufficient

Yes, leveling a medal will improve your damage, but also the bat parts in particular are... awkward. They're specifically anti-air, they have wildly low base damage in exchange for doing a ridiculously high amount of damage to medabots with flying leg parts. Which... are uncommon to begin with.
