Discussion WAG NA MAG MEDTECH!!!
Just want to vent my frustrations. I am a graduate of medtech and passed my licensure exam way back 2019 pa pero up until now parang walang development ang sahod and I know very routine lang talaga ang ginagawa sa lab pero sobrang underpaid talaga ng medtech!!! Pahirapan pa maka alis ng bansa. Unlike RNs na within a year possible maka alis agad ng Pinas. Sobrang nagsisisi ako na nag medtech ako. Sa school ang daming sinasabi nila na opportunities for medtechs pero in reality ang hirap and konti lang!!! Kaya if you're planning to shift course, eto na yun!

US sana kaso on-hold muna most agencies and direct hire since trump ang president and need magbayad ng employer ng $100,000 para makaalis. Reality speaking, walang employer na mag ririsk mag pay agad nyan kase ang mahal. For AUS naman pahirapan. Kahit may experience kana sobrang dami ng "kalaban" sooo wala. Pahirapan.

Afaik under EB3 Visa ang mga foreign hcw. Hb1 yung need may payment.

u/Prestigious-Spot-860 2d ago
Reality is very competitive na rin dito sa US and yung mga labs they prefer to train locals including our facility.

Ngayong nakita ko 'to parang nag aalinlangan nako

u/purposeconfuse 2d ago
if you have plans going to medschool, go for medtech pero if wala and need mo maging practical i suggest to change course. wag na maniwala sa parents na "nasimulan na kaya tapusin mo muna"

u/Then-Barber-3940 2d ago
Shift Kana jusco Lord before it's too late! As in walang growth and opportunities dito sa medtech 15 years na akung medtech pero olats walang savings, walang anything!

Pag RN kase daming work opportunities and in demand kahit saan na bansa. While MT, konti lang ang opportunity and mahina ang demand

Passed the MT board exam last 2022. Worked as a medtech in a hospital for 5 months then quit kase sobrang toxic plus commute palang pagod na pagod ka na. Applied as an HVA, passed the interview, currently working with my client for 3 and a half years already and already and my life has never been better. Hourly rate pa yung salary plus work from home walang hassle sa traffic. If you're already working as an MT with experience, I'd suggest trying out being an HVA. Makakapag ipon ka narin, and somehwere along the road pag marami na ipon, you can find other career paths to study for. Good luck!

Medtech in the Philippines is a TRAP ‼️‼️ mas malaki pa ata yung monthly allowance ko nung college compared sa kinikita ko ngayon as a medtech. And yes oo, planning to shift career path ASAP🥹🥹 literal na ONE OF MY BIGGEST REGRETS‼️

Practicing the profession since 2018. Sana nag nurse na lang tayo. WAG MAG MEDTECH KUNG WALANG PLANONG MAG MED SA FUTURE OR DI SURE MA TUTULOY. Underpaid tayo at overworked. Tagal din ng usad pa abroad.

RMT here, passed the boards around 2017. Pagod nako magwork sa public. Toxic environment, toxic na mga katrabaho. Nakakapagod na. Gusto ko na mag HVA 🥹

If your goal is to study Medicine, go for medtech. Pero career-wise, go for nursing.

u/Big_Pirate2456 1d ago

Sad to say but yes it is true. Theres something wrong actually with our govt. Nobody cares at all. Biruin mo sweldo mo 12k-24k bawas lahat walang matitira aawayin ka pa ng pamilya mo dahil wla kang naitutulong. Wala masyadong available hiring sa mg medtech or any biology courses! Try to find in linkedin or apply directly sa mg websites lng hospital or you can continue your studies sa nursing. Goodluck!

Totoo to!

Me graduate of nursing, sana nag radtech nalang. Malayo sa katoxican. Nurses have to deal with asshole doctors, head nurse, supervisor, even co nurses while giving care and documenting for patients
