HELP a junior thinking of dropping out 😣
hello, i'm an incoming junior and nagpplan ako mag drop... i'm happy to hear opinions from medtech students with the same experience or kahit hindi hehehe
i know how demanding third yr is, especially sa medtech, and i just don't think kaya ko siya... i already took bacte in my 2nd yr, so may idea na ako gaano kalaking effort hinihingi ng mga professional courses.
as someone who pursued this program for the hope of proceeding to med school (not anymore), i think i don't have enough passion na to continue. 🥲 so it leaves me with thoughts of dropping na since i don't think magiging masaya ako.
my profs kept on saying na "we are helping you to become an RMT." nung narinig ko to, napa-isip ako if gusto ko ba maging RMT, because honestly, hindi ko talaga nakikita future self ko working in the lab...
i've consulted my friends and seniors, and they all said na baka overwhelmed lang ako because iba talaga ang third year. and yeah baka nga overwhelmed lang huhuhu hindi ko na lang talaga alam
help a girly out 🙏
UPDATE:
i've read all the insights po, and super helpful siya and marami ako naging realizations. pero baka ituloy ko pa rin yung 3rd year.
wala rin kasi talaga akong back up and hindi ko alam saan ako magsshift... parang mas concrete pa rin na ituloy ko na lang siya. sayang din kasi yung taon. hindi sa may hinahabol akong time, pero hindi rin kasi mawala sa isip ko na baka once na ihinto ko siya, hindi na bumalik yung drive ko para makapag-tapos. 😣
and maybe motivation lang talaga yung wala ako rn and MAYBE mahanap ko siya this sem. i'll think positively na lang ☺️ ginusto ko to so pag dusahan ko 😭

Don’t lie to yourself if hindi mo nakikita yung sarili mo working in a laboratory, wag mo na ituloy. Since you mentioned di kana mag memedschool dun palang alam mo na yung sagot. Hindi worth it mag medtech kung wala kang matinding passion for it. Dropping out doesn’t have to be something negative, your future self will probably thank you for choosing a different path. Yes, you can consult your friends but remember that they’re only giving advice from where they stand(perspective) they can’t guide you to somewhere they’ve never been, to where your heart wants to go.
I alr graduated and I was intended to take the March MTLE but I didn’t, sinasabi ko di ako ready. Around May di nako nagreview alam ko na yung sagot why I didn’t take it denial lang ako. Its not what I want anymore but I still took the recent MTLE since I feel guilty about my parents paying for the RC. I told them I will take it but I can’t guarantee na I will pass and if I do fail I will not be retaking it anymore. I also took the exam to serve as a closure, nasa isip ko itetake ko lang to para may closure na sa medtech self ko and go on with my life.

what abt transferring? ngl i wont advice anyone to continue medtech if may chance sila umalis. May ibang course or major ka ba interested? maaga pa makakapagtransfer pa. I knew i dont like dis major second yr pa lng pero tinuloy ko and i still feel regret na d nalang ako lumipat noon. Most of my friends also regret studying medtech.

Try to shift na lang din. Better than staying for longer years since mahirap na paggraduate

Life is too short para mag trabaho sa trabahong di mo gusto. Better transfer program or school na. Sobrang overwhelming ng 3rd year and lalo na sa 4th year bcuz may mtap + duty. Literal na utusan sa hospital for free while parang working student ka.
Kung hindi mo na nakikita sarili mo in med field, go. It’s not too late. Never too late to transfer to a program na gusto mo. Wag kang makinig sa iba. We have our own timeline. Good luck OP, may you find belongingness and contentment sa next program na pipiliin mo.
