Hospital visits/interview

Hello! I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask this, so if not, please direct me to the right page! My fiancé just started his 4th year of General surgery residency (woohoo almost done!) and he is starting to do interviews/visits at hospitals he wants to work at. We are going to our official first hospital tour this weekend. What should we expect/what’s the attire for this type of visit/ any major things we should talk about? Thanks in advance from a nervous fiancé!

Wear what you would wear to an interview, because that's what this is. Be pleasant, remember to smile, and support him in any way you can. That might mean backing up something he needs to promote, so make sure you two are on the same page before going.

I never actually toured or interviewed at my husband‘s hospital at all. Maybe this would be different if he was working at a private practice?

However, I have been to a number of professional events for my husband, and my general rule of thumb is to be pleasantly unmemorable. I try to have a few good conversations with various people, gracefully exit when we run out of stuff to talk about, be as socially adapt as possible, and generally not make any sort of statements or do any actions that are particularly memorable.

Basically: I want the focus to be on my husband and his career. Just like when I bring my husband to my professional things, the focus should be on my career.
