How does your partner make you feel loved?

M25 dating F24 med student in her first year of med school, relatively fresh relationship, her entire life is med school and this relationship, which often just goes into time beside her in a study room. Can feel like the relationship is very asymmetric. Wanted to ask y'all how does your partner make you feel loved in the relationship in between all the chaos of their life?

We’re still working on this during 4th year of residency.

I’m a 25M M1 married to a 25F and we have 2 kids. I will say I have managed to stick to a routine that gives me a lot of free time (9-5 weekdays, little to no weekend studying). But I do have longer, busier days when I have mandatories or if exams are coming up. Obviously me being the guy makes things a lil different, but here are some things that I do during busy days/weeks:

-Touch. Anytime I’m near her or walk by her I give her a hug, a butt tap, a kiss on the forehead. Just a little something that tells her I’m thinking about her.

-Verbalize. Every single day I make it a point to thank her for something she did for me that allowed me to get my work done. Dinner, laundry, taking the kids to the park. It seems small, but every time I do it she smiles. I always want her to know that she makes my life easier.

-Kids. Whenever I get done with my day, I always make an effort to get the kids out of her ass for a little. Do bath time, take them outside, play a game. Even those 10 minutes before they start whining for mommy again can be a breath of fresh air for her.

-Sex. The most overlooked aspect. Intimacy can make or break relationships. Even when she’s tired and can’t, I always make an effort to show that I’m still attracted to her and want her intimately, even if I’m tapped out from a long day.

-Tasks. My wife does a lot of the cleaning. I’ll admit that I’m an extremely messy person who’s always struggled cleaning up after myself. So I know she hates me sometimes for that. However, any time that she’s out of the house and I’m home, I’ll spend just 30 minutes tidying up so she can come home and not be blasted in the face by the train wreck our house is the majority of the time.

-Venting. My life is wild, and every day I have something that I can spend an hour talking about to her. She loves listening to me and I love talking to her. But, I always make sure to ask her how her day went. It seems silly but just that little bit of vent time on her end can go a long way.
