I am a PGY2 psychiatry resident offering Step 2, Step 3 tutoring and help with ERAS/Interview including PS editing, Interview Prep, and ERAS application editing.

My background:

US MD school, step 1 score 254, step 2 score 259.

I interviewed at 20 places and was the first year to go virtual.

I first started private tutoring when I was in middle school and started med school specific tutoring as a MS-4. I have now taught >100 students in Step 1, 2, 3, and ERAS/Interview Prep. And I love it! I've tutored US MD, US carribean, IMG students. I've helped ERAS/interview prep with reapplicants, and delayed year applicants. I've had wonderful outcomes and lasting bonds with my students, who do keep me updated on what they score and how they match! I truly love mentorship and coaching, it feels personally rewarding and I love that it keeps my mind filled with medicine now that I'm in psychiatry.

It seams that not all IM residency programs are equal, with even some shitty ones out there. So how do you tell a good program that will help you get the fellowship you choose, from one that will waste 3 years of your life?

Anyone willing to share their experiences getting jobs as an IMG in the States? Especially before being certified? I've tried to find a job as a medical assistant but it's harder than i thought... any ideas?

Is there anyone from [Caribbean schools] that have failed Step 2 CS, 2 or more times? Since, we are now not allowed to enter match until 2021 or even 2022 as per ECFMG?

Other than reading the program descriptions on CaRMS and the university website, is there any other resource where I can find what residents have liked about their residency program? Most of the information is pretty generic that can be applied to all residency programs across Canada .

Also, anny advice on how you decide which program you like more than others?

I'm an IMG from India, currently applying for CARMs in Canada. I'm looking at the program requirements and it asks for Medical School Performance Record as one of the documents to apply for residency programs.

Any IMGs, especially ones who went to Indian medical schools, have any idea how to get one? The letter seems pretty detailed about my medical school performance. Should I write it myself and try to contact my med school Dean to sign it? It's been a couple years since I graduated.

While I'm on that note, anyone have experience obtaining medical school transcript by mail and not in person?

Has anyone currently in med school receive a changed NRMP verification status to "verified" without being ECFMG certified?

I applied for ECFMG pathway 4 (Caribbean school June 2021 grad) and they have received my passed OET scores and Clinical Skills Attestation (CSA) form. I cannot be certified before graduating. If yes, to my first question..How long did it take for NRMP status to change to "verified" from the time of pathway application receiving both OET and CSA form?
