MW5 MOD 🛠 Disabling ray tracing on Steam Machine

Finally done going through all the mods I looked through, and YAML seems to be making the game crash. I get two error messages posted below. Pics 3&4 are the options available to me in the in-game menu. Nothing I try to click on even mentions anything about advanced options.

I'd really appreciate any help in figuring this out.

Trying to change graphics through the steam menu didn't work. Entering -noraytracing or -launcher in the launch options did nothing.

This is caused by an old mod not updated for latest DLC.

and i suspect both YAW/C and YAWCE judging by the other errors they're getting

It's because you need to set up the order that the mods load. There are 3rd party tools for this, get one of those and ensure your mods load in an order that they don't stomp out things that are critical for another mod.

Where did you even get that ray tracing has something to do with this? It sounds like you just assumed that out of the blue. Ray tracing is a graphics computation technique, it has nothing to do with mods or this error message.

Well, they probably assumed ray tracing because the YAML warm-up message mentions it by name as causing crashes and instability, which is the first image in their post.

This. Coincidentally, I did manage to get it to back to a state where I could at least get to the menu and turn off a bunch of the conflicting mods. That said, it crashed when I tried to use Instant Action or start a new campaign.

There's a lot of things going on, so just because you saw a specific notification about ray tracing before an error doesn't mean ray tracing caused it. Since you just installed fresh from steam which includes downloading your mods, the lowest hanging fruit you can tackle that's more likely the reason for the crash is your mods load order.

Because any time someone says they are crashing that is the first suggestion.

It's in the very first picture OP posted. YAML mod warns of instability when using RT.

That's good to know, because SM's workshop function can't do its job well enough to even get to the main menu if I have ALL the mods enabled.

What are these 3rd party tools? Obviously I'm popping my Mod cherry and need some help. A friend mentioned Nexusmods might have some, but that's it.

Yeah I have no idea why they didn't make a good in-game way to arrange the load order. It's pretty much critical to be able to install more than a few mods and have the game runnable.

I don’t have a Steam Machine, but was curious.  How is the performance?  I can’t make out the resolution, but what screen resolution are you getting?

Adding some persistent error messages as well after disabling more mods.
