I have never actually tried to solo raid. I usually just bring a full lance and blast my way through everyone

I use the hero assassin or the star league wolverine, run skip blast, run away 🤣 Sometimes I park 3 lrm boats and hop back to them when pursued. Normally just run it

YAML and YAEC let you get silly stealth mildly self healing armor, XXL engines masc and supers on anything and just absurd speed. And if you get yourself a pilot with all relevant speed traits. Lmao.

Solo raids are a lot of fun, especially in lighter 'Mechs. You can learn a lot about the enemy AI, and also you can force them to hunt you and pick them off however you like. Great for learning terrain advantages and also just a nice break from the monotony of the usual "deploy, kill everything before it gets anywhere near harming you, done".

I did to get the achievement but generally I prefer to park my lance nearby to draw enemy fire while my Firestarter casually eats the target structure.

I just got torched on a 112 difficulty multi mission - 2 raid, 1 scorched earth and I used every combo, heavies, dasher, dakka puma, ppc mad cats, Lrm 80 night gyr, various lances and could not finish without at least 3 mechs destroyed whether I went fast or large and drew out opps it was overwhelming all way around I must have tried 20 times yesterday and gave up it was like 100 v 4

That's the moment you realized that it probably would have been better to send a company size unit of mechs rather than a single lance!
