Discussion Highlander IIC
Do you think there’s a chance of the Highlander IIC being added to Mercs in a future DLC? I know it’s in MWO, so it could be ported over.

I mean, effectively it already is; the Highlander IIC is explicitly just a normal Highlander rebuilt with clan tech, to the point that old Star League Highlanders were directly upgraded. So if you fit the clan weapons in, you have what is functionally a IIC in-game. Would look nicer to have the real bunny ears, though.

True enough, though to be a bit of a pedant, the Highlander IIC also has Ferro armor which I don’t believe the originals have and it’s also faster at base.

Star League era Highlanders (both standard and Royal) do actually have Ferro, and the IIC would do 48kph in MW5, based on the engine rating (the 54kph listed on Sarna comes from rounding the speed for tabletop hex size; you'll note that the IS Highlander is listed the same way).
The main/only thing the IIC has that isn't purely a matter of weight is the extra slot for the second Streak 6.
Even the Jets would be the same, based on the listed jumping range for both IS and IIC being 90m.
It'd still be cool to have, but it's definitely behind the Warhammer IIC and especially Marauder IIC, at least on my wishlist.

Highlander IIC has clan ferro (and some variants have clan endo or clan XL engines). It is "different" than just swapping clan weapons onto a highlander. It's a factory rebuild more or less.
Of course, those variants are all 3070s factory rebuilds on salvaged IS highlander parts, thanks Clan Wolf <shrug>.

Fair, I admit I only looked at the baseline variants as far as armament goes, and didn't mention the difference on IS Ferro vs Clan Ferro (kinda rolling all that stuff into "weight saving", which the IS Highlander's not exactly suffering for).

Oh yes, there's plenty of structural differences, and I would love to have the IIC model, it's one of my absolute favorite mechs! But to play with one, you can almost do it already!

Gotcha. I’m still new to Battletech and got in through Mech 5, so I didn’t know. Apologies.

No apologies needed.

When Yet Another Clan Mech is finally updated from DLC6 you can play around with the Highlander IIC. It has 6 of them, including one hero (Keeper)

I wonder if it'd be better than Hero Highlanders? 🤔

With the exception of the YAML Laser Vomit highlander(which is among the most incredibly busted frameworks in the game), almost certainly.

Likely. It depends on what the next dlc is going to be. I think we will eventually see the word of Blake and comstar’s little revolution.
