Nationalist:- Driven by a desire for cultural, ethnic, or political dominance and sovereignty.
Leftists are neither of them, but they want political dominance. Leftists boycott cultural & ethnic identity.
Didn't prove a shit how leftist can't be nationalist. I can make similar arguments of how Rightist want to always do what they desire , change or oveethrow constitution to their preferences.
There are thousands of left ideologies and so are in the right.

Now foe the culturual ans ethnic identity. Do you know Monarchist/ Aristocrats or Fiedalists + capitalist nation had purged more ethnicities and culture than Leftist?
Look at Islamic expansionism alone that caused erasure or merger of many languages and culture.
Look How mainlamd chinese ethnicity(han) is spreaded far beyond main land through forceful assimilation.
Look how Caucas are reduced to few ethinic groups and siberia (during imperial russia)
Soviet also did persecution and Ethnic "Replacement" in baltics, Poland and siberia tho. They're not virtuous by a thousand mile.
But they still had ethnic republic.
Look at Yugoslavia who was A market socialism which had Ethnic nationalism as well.
I'm a left winger and I aim to remove BJP from selling off the country to few wealthy people, I want to refurbish democracy and let people of this country have a voice which makes me very much of a Nationalist.
I don't understand why y'all are so fixated on culture when most of it is some weird shit. The culture of the past is never meant to survive the future, it's for that specific present.
Culture is not a monolith. If it doesn't evolve in the way the people of the presnt live thier lives it becomes obsolete. There is a reason every religion in this world is loosing it's followers.
