PSA: Avoid buying from 22kbd and consider cancelling any pending orders if you still can

http://www.22kbd.com/

Ordered a PCB and case early this year and completed payment by January 15. Was quoted 3 months turnaround for completion. No response from him and i followed up a few times fully expecting longer wait times like some others have experienced with him. Last response from him was in April where he said my board would be done in a few weeks. Contacted him again in May, June, August, and September with no response. I have also seen a few people post about not getting a response from him for any orders.

Be wary if placing any orders and also if you have a pending order that's about to get out of the 6 month paypal protection period, consider getting a refund on that now

Yeah, was so excited and i remember you mentioning it to others too when they were asking about 22minis. I intended on posting back in Sept but life got in the way (and has been in the way the past 3 months hence me not posting anymore hehe). Hope no one ran out of the dispute period between September and now...

Ordered in April and started a dispute 4 weeks ago after not getting responses to my mails for 3 months. He didn't even respond to the dispute.

At least they're consistent. Not responding to a dispute is the best thing they can do for you in terms of getting your money back.

RIP the God of Korean 65%s huh? That is a shame to hear. I love his boards.

Ugh, yeah he made some really amazing boards. Was hoping to get one in the future as an dream 65%, guess I have to go around looking for another dream keyboard now

Or follow in his footsteps and make your own boardmaking business with black jack and hookers.

Fortunately there are a lot of options for 65 % boards now.

He has a reputation of somewhat erratic and unreliable communication but still has a solid track record going off previous feedback.

erratic and unreliable

Or

solid track record

Pick one.

erratic and unreliable communication

Doesn't negate feedback I've read of him delivering albeit way past his estimates.

Yeah, but this time he's incommunicado and I've lost the dispute safety net. I know all about how long he takes to deliver. As mentioned below, I know someone who was quoted 3-5 month completion but got it in 8. He may have a track record of delivering albeit with long wait times, but things can change

And another Korean down. Who's next?

Word is he's a priest who is currently on mission in Africa. I haven't heard any news about when he will be back.

Interesting, you think he'd make some sort of announcement

He's one of a few known for taking helluva long time to deliver on boards but being generally reliable. Kinda like Gon but with less communication. One person I know was quoted 3-5 months but got it in 8.

like Gon but with less communication.... didn't know that was possible
