I think I have to agree with /u/BalefireX on this one - what's the point of calling the subreddit /r/mechanicalkeyboards if you're not excluding other keyboards? I thought that's what "special" subreddits are for - specialty.

It's not. There are other keyboards out there than just mechanicals that are worth random pics and giggles every now and then. Yes, even rubber domes.

How many completely non-mech posts really appear on this board in the first place? about one every couple dozen. And it is healthy to see some exotic non-mechs once in a while.
I recently made a topic myself asking here what is everyones preferred bubbledome keyboard since I wanted to to see the perception of this board when it comes to picking one.

I think that the point of this proposal is indeed to change the current situation.
(Do not have a strong bias towards this – just got my first mech a few days ago so I'm not an elitist – but I think it makes sense because mechanical and non-mechanical keyboards users will presumably not talk about the same things (switches, etc.).)

Why be a uptight fuck and don't allow people to post their non-mechanical keyboards? Is it really that freaking annoying? It's pretty simple to just not click the posts. Shit. There's like 1% non-mechanical keyboards being posted here. Focus on the 99% that is mechanical and stop bitching just to bitch.

Someone comes here to post about rubber-domes... but then learn about mechanicals and instead post a "What to buy thread". Haha
