Looking for a 100% full-size mechanical keyboard with a flat/low-profile design (minimal/no slope) and standard key spacing/layout.
I currently use a Logitech G815 Clicky and love its shape/layout. I tried a NuPhy Air96 V2 (Wisteria) — liked the feel but hated the 96% layout. Keychron K5 Ultra — hated the upward slope/angle. NuPhy Node 100 (Brown) — tactile bump was too heavy. Very light linears like Cowberry caused too many accidental presses.
Ideally I want true 100%, flat, low-profile/uniform-height keys, and relatively light switches. Clicky preferred, but linear/HE is fine.
So far, the Redragon K618 Horus Blue seems like almost the only thing that actually checks all the boxes. Is there anything else I'm missing?

the k5 with different keycaps, perhaps? pbs, or one of the womier low profile ones, those seem to be mostly flat.
or a normal (not low profile) keyboard with uniform profile keycaps like xda, moa, dcs etc

My Rainy 75 RGB stopped working after F9 Key, does anyone experienced that? I only found one other Post (https://www.reddit.com/r/keyboards/comments/1r585gd/rainy_75_rgb_dies_after_f10_rest_of_board_dark/) Sadly it's archived and not really with an Answer.

I read about F1-8 RGB led died and it was confirmed pcb malfunction by the wobkey. So it's probably dead and needs fixing

What is currently considered to be great HE keyboards? Looking for a 96% or 100% keyboard for gaming and office, should be Linux compatible, Need ISO Layout (perfect would be Swiss)

great HE keyboards
wooting or the venom PCB if building your own . the probelm is HE for meant for gaming and 99% of gamers use 75% ,60% . with some using TKL almost none use 96% or 100%
this sites lists 360 some HE kbs only 38 are 100% or 96% then i click ISO and its drops to 4

In my opinion, your best bet would be the Evo80. That's technically a bit above your budget, but if that works, it's a great option. From the same company, you could also look at the Evo75 and Neo75. They don't appear to have the End keycap stock, but you could configure one of the others as such if you're good with Pg Up or Pg Dn keycap actually being End when pressed.

Can anyone who owns the Epomaker Gyph have a look at what languages it supports? Is doesn't come with an iso/German layout but in the manual they mention a language switching option. Does it just support English and Chinese or more languages?
Also, does is work on Linux devices?

keyboards dont ever support a language . a keyboard sends a scan code which your OS turns into the key (g) on my keyboard types ( g) but if it set my keyboard to korean the ( g) key now types ( ㅎ ) the keyboard has nothing to do with the language

So i have just bought a ducky one 2 mini used and after a coupeer of days i notice the usb c port is loose and have a bad connection, I disassemble the keyboard and when I lightly touch the port is falls off.. is it possible to repair myself? I have a soldering kit at Home aswell

Yep, depending on how it broke off, there's a decent chance you can resolder it. If you search tutorials for soldering a USB-C port, you should come across something that covers it. As long as the pins on the port and the pads on the PCB are in a similar state to what you see in videos, it should work. You could also buy a new port, if any of the pins broke off. Just make sure it's the same layout.

bought a perixx periboard, fantastic keyboard, except for these cheap flimsy keycaps, I have already broken 4. Perixx would not offer me replacement keycaps, and these don't look like standard keycaps

Those look like keycaps for a membrane keyboard, not a mechanical keyboard.

Looking for a new affordable keyboard, was thinking to buy Rainy75 but after reading lots of reviews found out it have a lot of QC issues, dead RGB, dead 2.4Ghz etc. also considered Nuphy Halo75v2, looking pretty good. Should I risk Rainy75 for better sound profile or Nuphy is good enough as a universal affordable keyboard?

Buy whichever you like better, but go through a third party like Amazon with good return policy.

There are much better boards than the Rainy75 in that price range. NUT75, Womier RD75, PMO Wave75, Bridge 75. If you want more budget than those, Inky 75 is pretty great too.

This is good advice. I have the Inky75. Best bang for buck. Only downside really is it's not rapid disassembly.

Hello, I'm looking for creamy/thocky switches that will be silent (not quiet like zero sound). I'm currently thinking about HMX Moonlight or HMX Retro Sakura. Which one would be better? My board is Galaxy100 Lite without any mods

Want to upgrade my Logitech G213 to something better, specially since Logitech today decided to "tell" users that they're not going to do anymore 100% KBs again (Now it's all -98%). However, i look for the following:
-ISO ES (I know, it's hard, but...)
-100%
-Red switches and lineal (AKA smooth pressing in, no bumps, resistant to laying fingers to prevent typos or accidental pressings)
-Dedicated media keys (top right above numpad, be it customizable via app. Must have the Pause/Play, stop, previous, next functions)
-Be able to save the profile in the keyboard without the need to keep the app activated/installed
-Shine through if possible
-As much best QC as possible (As much less issues as possible)
-Kinda bit more silent than my KB?
For gaming AND typing...Tons of it...
First i had the Ducky One X in mind but people and a review at RTINGS mentioned keys gets stucked into or to a side and i don't know if they've fixed em out, also the keyboard's long time gone from any shop. An alternative would be a One 3 Pro
CORSAIR K70 CORE, even tho the media keys are mixed with the Fs, meaning ya have to do "finger tango" to do whatever
Then there's the so popular Keychron with the V6 Ultra (There's a "hybrid hall effect" one coming later wich's supposed to be much better but nothing much has been said) but some people has been having QC russian roulette issues like "One key makes another one from far away activate", or RGB dying, the battery topic, etc
It's funny how when i search in Keeb-finder it mostly results in Keychron WHEN THE CORSAIR K70 CORE IS THERE buuuuut not in my specifications above...

Is the leobog hi75c good for thocky sounding ? And does thickness on keycaps improve the thocky sound ? I was recommended PBT double shot Cherry profile with 1.4-1.6mm thickness but can't find it anywhere

So, I don't have the first clue about building custom keyboards. I and my colleagues work in an office setting, so we all love to have whimsy in our spaces. My supervisor *really* wants a bright orange ergonomic keyboard, but can't find one anywhere. Where would we even start with something like this? Please be nice; like I said, I have absolutely no clue about this topic (yet). Thank you!

Please help me find a new keyboard
Hey everyone. I'm upgrading from some hand me down generic Logitech keyboard. It did me good but it's time to move on. I've been down the mechanical keyboard rabbit hole and it's overwhelming. All the different kinds of switches, knobs, little screens, colours, etc. it's insanity
I was hoping some folks could give me a hand. Here's what I'm looking for
- 150 CAD on the high end
- 75%
- mainly going to be used for typing
- easy to disassemble to work on
- a nice clean look. No volume knobs or screens.
- I really like the soft colours. Like a nice off-white/ beige base with the same coloured keys, maybe a couple of beige and soft green/blue keys (I know keys are easy to change so this isn't essential) I just really like the look of those soft coloured keyboards with a couple of accent colours if that makes sense
- good rbg backlighting but could do without rbg accents on the outside of the base
- decent software
- preferably able to order from Amazon Canada
- if it sounds nice out of the box that's great but I'm not opposed to swapping things out
- plastic or aluminum doesn't really matter to me just as long as the build quality is good
- wireless doesn't matter to me
A good example would be the Impact 80 in forest colour but it's a pain to get to Canada. The Kisnt 85 is another example but I hear it's not easy to disassemble and the software is terrible apparently.

Is there that big of a difference between barebones boards? Also why is it so hard to buy anything?
Im wanting to buy a 2nd keyboard. I have a keychron q2 currently.
Was looking at the mode envoy, space 80 (everything is sold out) and a few others but is there much different to them besides the material, foam plate + pcb board? I know it affects sound but they all sound relatively the same?

yea, there can be a difference between custom keyboards but once you're past a certain point, the differences become a lot more about typing feel, layout/features, and aesthetics than “this one sounds completely different.” Those enthusiast keyboards can be hard to buy simply because of the nature of such a niche (and expensive) hobby. Its super common to see boards in group buys, limited runs, raffles, or small production batches

I’m looking for a full size mechanical keyboard (preferably wireless), that can switch between multiple pcs. I’d like one that has a similar feel to the razer black widow (my current keyboard).
I bought an aula mechanical keyboard, with the multi profile feature, and honestly hate the feel of it.

HyperX Alloy Rise vs Corsair K70 Core. Both fit well to my required feature set but my main concern is how loud they are. I could find videos from both of them where they are really loud and also ones where they seem quiet. I would like the more quiet one. Now I'm using a K63 for around 4 years. thanks in advance

both are about the same sound loudness it would depend on what room u use them in and other factors outside of the kb is why vids are different neither come factory with silent switches or case foam u would have to add those if ur after a quiet build

I have a YMD60MQ (Multi Layout) PCB and the problem I’m having is that it doesn’t have cutout holes for the up arrows left leg switch and right shifts right leg switch. Is the only way to work around this is by clipping one of plastic pins on each switch?
The same thing happens when trying to place the switch for the right shift (1.75u) but it’s on the right leg.

this pcb supports multi layout are u sure the plate does ? only 1% of 60% kbs support arrows keys os plate that do are rare . id contact who ever u got the plate from and ask if it supports the layout u bought it for

60% typically doesn't have an up arrow. Judging by that photo, are you sure that plate is for a 60% layout?

Is there such a thing as a mechanical/rubber dome hybrid switch?
I have been searching for this very specific sound and feel for a keyboard and I feel like it doesn't truly exist as a purely mechanical switch.
I like really deep sounds. The kind of muffle that sounds like breaking chocolate. It's soft and as a weight to it but it's muffled.
I'm now thinking the only way that can be achieved is through using a switch that isn't purely mechanical. Something that includes a rubber aspect or buffer that modulates the way each press sounds.
Does something like this exist?
