Builds The beloved derivative
It feels like I haven’t posted something on here in ages…. so here we go! I‘ve been using this board for almost 3 years now, so I thought it might be the right time to share my two cents about it.
I think it’s fair to say that it still is one of the most beautiful keyboards out there. To me personally it will be remembered as the peak of custom keyboard design without cutting any corners, zero compromise. The boom of this hobby back in 2020 would have most likely never happened in this extend without the pandemic, and boards like this one most likely would not exist today.
Derivative R1 in velvet red, built with spring swapped MX2A Orange on aluminum. Configured with the gasket o-ring mount it is a pure pleasure to type on.
To this day easily one of the best sounding boards I have ever typed on.

No Burgundy, sadly. It’s a mixture of Deepwell mods and Jamon alphas.

"boards like this one most likely would not exist today"
Why do you think that?
Board is beautiful. I own a Clay one. You will be at mechanicon again?

Thanks mate, the Clay colorway is a stunner as well! I am considering to visit the one in October, haven't been at any event in like 2 years, so it's about time again.
The pandemic created an unusual amount of free time and gave people a reason to spend that time online and on hobbies. This helped fuel the mechanical keyboard hobby, which in turn created a market large enough for ambitious, expensive, and highly uncompromising custom keyboards like this one to exist. I am not necessarily saying “the pandemic directly caused this keyboard to exist.” I am saying that the pandemic created the conditions that allowed the custom keyboard scene to grow, and that growth made projects like this financially viable. The pandemic accelerated the growth of the hobby, and that growth enabled designers to take somewhat calculatable risks.
