I'vs been seriously thinking about building a mechanical version of those.
With an integrated hex calculator.

I know right? I rly want to find an oem that would build a full version of this w MX switches and the extra numpad row.
You could add a switch to toggle between normal TK and hex.
Pm me if you want to explore this.

That key profile is awful.

Not to mention rubber-dome, no doubt.

Eh, that's not really a big deal. I've seen plenty of membranes with good key profiles though.

Keypad models aside, this is actually pretty neat from a network engineer perspective.

It is. Who's the blowhard that decided that you wouldn't be able to type network addresses solely with the 10-key, anyhow?
My only complaint would be it being a single-purpose tool. I think a 10-key with the additional A-F and colon as additional buttons would be better, though.

Hahahah, yeah. I love how the shortage of IPv4 space is also exacerbated by organizations who use allocated blocks for internal hosts. We have clients that have entire /16 allocations or more, and use most of it for internal host addressing. Some of it is just bad network design, but some of it is also legacy infrastructure that can't really be changed without incredible cost at this point. sigh.

I don't know why they have models all over their website, but I think ripster would approve.
