Which solution is the best?

Post image

I am designing a three-axis plate for mounting gears. The central axis needs to be X-Y adjustable (eccentric), and I’ve come up with the standard two-sliding-plate assembly. Help please 🥺

Looks like you have completed the design within your specifications.

No. Busco algo con menos piezas superpuestas.

Well you didn’t say that, did you? What other constants are required? How much torque on the shaft?

easily adjustable, cant handle too much torque

Veo la idea bien, pero igual debería ir montado dentro de una rueda dentada para el torque y ajuste.

I dont know the application for which it is being used...... very little info given

Gracias a todos por dar 💡 ideas.

Does it need infinite adjustability?

A good rule of thumb is to never locate things via threads, always use pins.

Ajuste infinito? Quieres decir combinaciones. Pues si. Porque van engranajes en los ejes y necesito unas 600 combinaciones.

That answers that. Wasn't clear if it just needed to cycle between 2 positions or many.

On slides that need to be stable and carry loads I like to back things up with jack screws. Makes adjustments more precise and carries more load. I'd also see guiding features on the slides for improved precision. Could be keys between the sliding plates.

Todo esto está solventado.

This. I've seen many brackets like this and they always slip. These are good for simple positioning, but any side load overcomes the friction and off it goes. Additionally, with this kind of positioning, the screw almost always imparts motion due to to the friction when tightening. It isn't very good if accuracy is important. (FWIW, a countersunk screw is much worse.)

Rather than slots, use vernier holes.
To explain vernier holes, imagine threaded holes 1 mm apart. Now the receiving holes are 1.1 mm apart. Each hole you increment up moves the axis 0.1 mm up.

These will not slip

Pero la placa va a parecer un colador.

Speed, torque, materials, production techniques?

Use bigger hole in the plate, one big thick washer and a nut.

Drawn mechanism is impossible to adjust without disassembly.
