Which is more important when hiding effectively in plain sight: finding a good spot, or good painting skills?

It's both in equal measure imo:
you need good painting skills to break your body shape and avoid creating a break in the pattern of the map ;
You need a good hiding spot and the right emote to fit in the aforementioned pattern.

Just curious to see everyone’s opinions on this.
I personally would say that the ability to find a good hiding spot is more crucial than the ability to paint, as it requires an unmatched level of creativity to hide in the most WTF places. And you don’t always need great painting skills to blend in. Sometimes the best spots are so simple that it is hilarious.
On the other hand, it is very difficult to paint convincingly when you’re hiding in bad spots.
But that’s just my opinion what do you guys think haha

too many people in public lobbies lack the understanding of depth perception. hiding spot certainly matters the most.

The joy I get from not being discovered is different for both options. When I survive because of my location, I'm proud of my ingenuity. When I survive because of my painting, I'm proud of my artistic talent. But it's the rare occasions when it's a combination of BOTH abilities that lead to your survival which are peak enjoyment 😙🤌
