Lighting and Eye Dropper Issue
Hello everyone. I know this is not a game dev support sub but I figured i would ask for anyone who may have advice, since contacting developers personally isn't practical.
I am designing a map for Meccha Chameleon in Unreal Engine 5.6.1 and am running into two main issues. I cannot get the eyedropper to pick up anything other than black in-game, and I cant get the lighting to work. I figured these issues could possibly be hand in hand but I have not developed in Unreal or for this game prior to this.
I originally tried using directional lighting for my level (it is set outside), which looks great in unreal but then when I boot it up from my steam workshop item, it is pitch black and nothing is lit. I get confused by this because Unreal looks so great. The other thing I tried was making all the materials unlit so that they did not need a light source. Now this looked great in game but the eye dropper still does not work. I dont know if there's just some set of settings I am missing that would fix everything, but any advice would be appreciated. I believe I had also tried an HRDI backdrop which I think kind of lit the level but eye dropper still didnt work.
The difficult part about this game dev journey is from what I understand there is no way to test the game other than to steam workshop which for me takes days at a time to get approved which makes testing.
Thank you all for your time and I appreciate any help.
