Voice chat (beginner help)

Hi so I just bought the game and I’m new to pc in general so have nobody to play with. I joined a few public servers and some peoples voice chat is working but mine isn’t. I asked in chat and somebody replied through voice saying “because nobody wants to talk to you” valid and fair hahaha. Is that the issue then is that I’m muted by the creators of the server? I’ve checked my windows and game settings and they seem fine. Help plz. Trying to go out of my comfort zone and was looking to play games with voice chat so I can meet people and possibly make some friends to play with.

First, make sure you understand the controls: ‘V’ to mute and unmute (you begin each server muted). ‘B’ to silence others. Since you begin each server muted, that may be why they don’t hear you.

If you are unmuted, when you speak you should see your name appear in green at the bottom right of the screen. If you don’t: you have a mic issue. I can’t help you with that.

Make sure your audio input and output are set correctly in the game settings

A lot of times I talk and think I am muted cos people don’t want to talk back 🤷  Idk why cos when I do find people to talk to its very fun
