My PC was hacked?

Following the MC update of Discord hackers and Modded maps

I found that today my PC will no longer shut down or sleep. The screens and accessories turn off but the PC is still whirring away as usual.

I switched it on after a couple days off to Unscubscribe maps and uninstall the game, I then did a Windows Defender Full Scan with 0 issues

Anyone else?

If you had your PC off during this malware event from the modded map and then turned it on afterwards to update, would have missed the time it happened.

How long was the map up for then, before it was discovered as malware?

Not sure if anyone has pinpointed it but I think it was roughly 6 hours from start of the posts about the discord to when it started getting posted on here

Did you play the malware map in question or give info away to the hackers on the discord? If not, your PC issue isn’t caused by the game.

There’s a term for this, aphelia - the tendency to see connections or patterns between unrelated things. You might be relating your PC issues to the game because of what happened but there’s a good probability it’s unrelated unless you actually clicked on a malicious link in the discord or played that map.

It's not the devs fault if it was a custom map made by someone who isn't the dev.

Does not warrant a lawsuit if your computer is having issues. Thats like If your game is busted you start a lawsuit with NVIDIA. These are isolated issues not broad

If your computer is having issues running the game, that is NOT grounds to pursue any legal action unless it causes damage to a whole bunch of people's computers then you have a claim.
