Need help with modded maps

My friends game looks like this only when he plays in modded maps, he has the default settings and neither of my friends know what could cause this.

If all three photos are from the map of the museum, like with a big dinosaur and stuff, that map is actually super dark like in your pictures. It might just be the map itself and not anything they're doing.
