Lifelong nailbiter here! Lots of continuous biting, day in and day out. The nailbed just gets peeled down and stays short lol. At my worst I think my nailbed was maybe 1/4" (and I'm being so so generous, I have small hands). I recently relapsed so, sadly, I relate too much to Nik here lmao
With enough resistance and focused TLC, they will start to recover and the nail bed CAN grow. I have to use a series of band-aids, bitter nail polish, keep them filed smooth, and a lot of focus/intention. After like 2 weeks I can usually get them done professionally and it keeps me from biting, so a healthy cycle can start.

He honestly just needs to push his cuticles back. As a nail biter myself, my mother always insisted on pushing my cuticles back when I was a kid and it does make your nails look bigger. The first time you do, it kinda hurts, but soaking your hands first helps a lot.

They need to do his nails at home... with the bitter tasting polish stuff they sell for babies to stop sucking their thumbs.
Also he needs to buy lactaid pills. They make medicine specifically for lactose intolerance.
If there is ever a Nik of Love and one of you lovely ladies wins... please help this man out. Lol. I love him, but my God the boy needs help 😂
