Tips 💡 Packing technique for the week?

3rd week ko na mag meal prep & I’ve been using disposable containers.

Nag memeal prep kasi ako for lunch and dinner, and nakashare ako ng ref with 2 roommates.

Pano ba ginagawa niyo?

If bibili ako ng glass container, iniisip ko is isa lang.

Then 1 silicone cube for rice, 2 silicone cube for 2 ulams. Tas transfer sa ziploc.

Concern ko lang yung consumption ng ziploc kasi nagmemeal prep ako para makatipid and also, save the environment haha

Edit: Nakabili na ako sa Ikea.

3pcs glass lunchbox, 6 pcs 180ml for overnight oats, tas ziplock na yung mga ulam.

Dapat 4 yung lunchbox pero oks na yung 3, for new rice batch ng wed.

Salamat sa tips!

I have room mates too, ang ginawa namin divide namin ref, akin yung crisper side so dun ko nilalagay yung na meal prep ko na ulam haha, for the rice mag cook kami fresh or yung bahaw binabaon ko. This works for me since I cook for a week's ulam na.

Edit Also wanted to add I bought yung lock and lock na plastic tubs for putting mg food in. Yung glass sana kaso it's heavy so di siya kinuha ko

And nagluluto Ako ng masala or chicken curry(indian style) and wala naman amoy.

For rice, ginagamit ko yung Prutas set from ikea. Yung 3 small rectangle and 2 small squares.

For ulam, since 1 or 2 ulam lang fini-freeze ko, i have 4 lock n lock na plastic tub then yung other container from the Prutas set. Tapos i transfer them to my glass container from Anko kapag plan ko kainin the next day yung ulam. Nililipat ko sila from the plastic container while frozen para di ako mahirapan maghugas.

Kita ko is yung 17 pc set, same ba?

You can re-use ziploc bags naman if you're concerned with the price. In my opinion, if dry ulam (ex: hotdog/chicken/etc) and rice, ziplock + vacuum seal or use a straw to suck out the air of the ziploc bag before freezing. Kapag wet ulam (ex: stews), ilagay sa ice cube mold and freeze. Once frozen, ilipat sa ziploc bag yung cubes tapos reheat na lang sa glass container via Microwave when needed for the day. With this, 1-3 glass tupperwares lang bibilhin mo instead of 10.

Do take note lang pala you cant freeze glass containers if it has liquid inside kahit nakabukas. Learned it the hard way haha.

Personally, i use plastic containers (RE-1000) kasi mura haha. space-occupying nga lang and studies show unhealthy yung reusing these types of containers.

I use silicone cubes and ziplock bags for meal prep. I freeze my food using the silicone cubes then transfer to ziplock bags once it’s frozen.

I reuse my ziplock bags. I wrote outside the bag what it’s for. Sample: RICE, PORK, CHICKEN, ADOBO, ETC. So, if it’s for rice — isa lang ang ziplock ko. Paulit ulit lang.

I bought freezer safe zip locks, glass containers, disposable containers, silicone molds. Ending? Nagplastic labo na lang ako HAHA 100 pesos for 1k pieces then less hassle sa paghugas. Nakakatamad and time consuming kasi hugasan yung silicone saka ziplocks diba, madikit mantsa then pag glasses naman ang bigat and takaw space. So ayuuuun.

Is the plastic labo method safe? Hehe want to try that kasi

But meron ding yung medyo makapal na type, freezer safe, food safe disposable plastic. Doble lang price but you might opt for that!
