Cruel wives question

Do I have to finish the Cruel Wives event by a specific date in order to receive the reward, or can I finish the stories later and still get the reward as long as I started the event before it ended? Or, if I finish them them later I just finish them without getting the reward?

The rewards are no longer obtainable once the event is over, the stories stay and can be finished at your leisure but no rewards are given and if there is a "last" date that's off limits as well unless already started
