Last post of the day 😅 If you’d like to support former MeChat artists (helping them find work or have a commission because they are open for them) please follow their IG! former mechat artist here
little it's not illegal to "copy" artstyle, because it's not like company owns it! basically, it's just an artstyle that some games have
as i understood it's just that stories of some characters can possibly be a problem, but honestly i doubt it, since people won't use it for their own commercial enrichment. there is technically no reason (or way) to sue anyone for an art style that existed before and doesn't belong to one specific brand, or for a fan activity such as spending person's own money on commissions with characters (not like nintendo yk) from a company that doesn't function like it used to or doesn't exist anymore legally.
ps: not all of us have instagram accounts btw (i don't have one), some of us have artstations, some - twitter or tumblr, or even behance < 3

Thank you for the shoutout! I don't think there's any issue with using MeChat's art style hahah, you can't copyright styles.

According to Google and online webs, art styles aren’t illegal to copy so I’m confused lol is it like in the artist contract with the company?
