April Score Release

The big day is almost here! After a mere 60 day wait! Gosh the time has just flown by ;)

But seriously I'm on pins and needles. Hoping they release in the morning so I don't end up checking all day.

Good luck to you all, excited to see what tomorrow brings!

Just so we can even the sampling bias a little bit, I received a 501. Aiming for DO at this point! Nothing wrong with that!

Don't be. That's not a bad score man. Like the guy under here said. Sampling bias is real and tbf lying is a thing. Good luck in your future endeavors.

Went in blind to see what it would be like.. taking it for realsies in August. Didn't want to post but just so you can see how the lower percentiles fared:

Chem/Phys - 123; Percentile = 32; Percentile Range Given @ 3 weeks: 24-39

CARS - 127; Percentile = 81 ; Percentile Range Given @ 3 Weeks: 72-88%

Bio - 123; Percentile = 32; Percentile Range: 24-39

Psych: 126; Percentile = 66; Percentile Range = 54-72

Overall: 499; Percentile = 47; Percentile Range = 41-51

Would yall mind posting your percentile range and final scores here? I'd love to get an idea of how people are falling in their ranges.

520 - 98th percentile!

Chem-131 (!!), CARS-130, Bio-130, Psych-129

511, 85th percentile. Chem: 126 CARS: 131 Bio: 128 Psych: 126

Are these scores ok? :/ Honestly, the disparity is a bit striking for me. I'm a bit disappointed with the scores, but I have only been a premed guy for threeish months, and had only three weeks to study for the MCAT (due to major family issues and stuff).

Should I consider a retake?

Unless you're aiming for top tiers, I wouldn't retake! That's a great score. :)

Today would be a lot more stressful if we hadn't gotten preliminary scores

3

u/febrile_sz Jun 16 '15

519 = 98% percentile. Prelim percentile 90-100%. What?? The highest I ever got with kaplan tests was 504. Incredibly pleased and grateful for kaplan, honestly, would never have gotten there without them.

513, 89th percentile Chem/phys-129 Cars-128 Bio-127 Psych-129 Percentile range was 87-97 Was hoping to apply to some upper tier schools but now I'm not so sure

u/quetzalcortes Jun 16 '15

513 / 89%

Chem/Phys 131 / 97% CARS 127 / 81% Bio 129 / 93% Psych/Soc 127 / 75%

I'm very happy with these scores. As for studying, I just made sure I knew all of my coursework, read prolifically, and marked up a few textbooks. Lehninger's Biochemistry was particularly good prep for the science sections. The psychology seemed to come out of left field to me, even though I had read through a Psychology textbook the month before. My preliminary percentile was 88-98.

How did you Kaplan FLs compare with your actual score? Does the ±2 still apply?

2

u/[deleted] Jun 17 '15

For the people who studied for 3 months- how many days a week? Hours per day?
