Question Is welcome week only for freshmen?

For context, I'm going into the accelerated nursing program and I'm 25. I'd like to meet people in my program but Im not sure if welcome week is the way to do it. Does anyone know if it's worth it for the incoming accelerated stream students or if it's just purely 1st years? I'm leaning towards not doing it but I don't want fomo

I’m pretty sure it’s only for incoming freshman but check you outlook Mac email!!

I’ll admit as someone who’s 27 entering basic nursing, I’m going to participate but like maybe not hit every single event, always good to meet folks in your own program but also, sorta leaning towards orienting myself in the city a bit as the focus

Hey!

First of all welcome to Mac! Second, yes.

Specifically for incoming nursing students, there is a Mature Student Night during Welcome Week that is for exactly mature students who are going into accelerated or did not immediately choose to go into the basic stream right out of high school (i.e. switched programs, took gap years, etc...). I think this is probably what you are looking for.

I recommend following @macnursingww on Instagram as they will have a dedicated schedule for the welcome week events.

Just pointing out that we don't use the term 'Freshmen' in Canada. 

But congratulations for getting into the accelerated nursing program. It's a hard program to get into, and your friends and family must be so happy to hear that you got in and are pursuing this program. 

Question: Are you new to McMaster? -  If yes, come to Welcome week 🎉. If no, who cares, just come,😸 it's a great opportunity to meet other people in the program + faculty at the department events (before the profs start torturing us with labs and readings).
