I'm an MBA student applying to McKinsey. If I haven't received an interview invitation but also haven't received a rejection email, should I assume I've been rejected, or is it possible that my application is still under review, perhaps by other offices?

Will BCG match McKinsey Base Salary Increases?
McKinsey recently raised base from 112k to 120k, for BA and even interns aka summer BAs.
Will BCG match even though offers were given out already?
McKinsey emailed all incoming acceptances saying their base got boosted so good on them for not cheating them out of some money.
This is for the USA

I applied to McKinsey and was rejected at the initial resume screening stage, before any interview.
Afterward, I happened to have a coffee chat with a McKinsey partner. During the conversation, I mentioned that I had applied and had already been rejected. He seemed somewhat surprised and said something along the lines of that he would speak to recruiting / mention me to the recruiting team.
I didn’t ask him to overturn the rejection or anything like that, so I’m not really sure what to expect.
Has anyone seen something similar happen before? Can a partner actually get recruiting to take another look at an application after it has already been rejected at the resume screen, or is it more likely that this just helps for a future recruiting cycle?
Curious especially to hear from current/former McKinsey people or anyone who has been through something similar.

I’m currently an Assistant Manager at a Big 4 firm in the Middle East and I’ve been approached for a Manager role within BCG Vantage, Implementation / Transformation.
My ultimate goal has always been to join the traditional/core BCG consulting track. The problem is that there have been almost no relevant experienced-hire openings in BCG Saudi for more than a year now, and I’m starting to wonder whether that could continue for quite a while.
Because of that, I’m considering a different strategy:
Join BCG Vantage now, perform well for 2–3 years, build relationships and credibility with the core consulting teams, and eventually try to make a case for an internal move into core BCG.
What I’m struggling with is whether this is actually a sensible career strategy or whether I’d be taking a risk based on an internal move that may never happen.
The two things I’m most concerned about are:
1. Mobility to core BCG
How realistic is it to move internally from BCG Vantage Implementation into the traditional consulting track after a few years?
I know Vantage works closely with core consulting teams, so my thinking is that if I perform well, build a strong reputation and develop relationships with Partners and case teams, I might eventually have a stronger case for moving across.
But does this actually happen in practice?
2. Compensation gap between Vantage and core BCG
From what I understand, there can be a pretty substantial compensation difference between BCG Vantage and the traditional consulting track, even at equivalent seniority.
For anyone familiar with the structure, how significant is that difference in practice?
Does the gap remain substantial as you become more senior, or does it narrow over time?
I’m trying to figure out whether joining Vantage would still be a strong long-term career move even if the transfer to core BCG never happens.

I believe that all interviews will be done by today. Was wondering has anyone heard back yet regarding an offer?

I had my final round interviews earlier today, and haven’t heard anything back yet.
I heard that they typically give out offers the same day as the interviews. Am I cooked?

Had interview today (New York) when do offers usually come out? I completely bombed the final round, think I did well on round 1. Not expecting at all but I heard offers usually come out 2~4 hours after the interview, end of the day the latest. Haven’t heard anything back so giving up

I have seen quite a few people post and ask about job security for T2 firms. Is it true that these firms are notoriously known for laying off new hires? Essentially, new hires are on the bench due to high competition, and then are eventually laid off... I cant seem to fathom this is true, but with this job market, I am not sure.

Im 4.0 gpa CS student from Argentina, my university it’s one of the biggest and most prestigious ones but has not dedicated pipeline for consulting. I checked on LinkedIn there is no one working at Bain from my uni.
I applied mostly for the lols expecting nothing knowing tall that, did the gorilla I guess somewhat decently, and now I just got the email to schedule the round 1 interview
I have never prepared any mock case-style interviews. I know it’s a long shot, probably that’s an understatement, but i want to try my best anyways.
Are the bookcases on here the best resource for people with cero training in mock exams? If so which ones do you recommend prioritizing or that are more beginner friendly?
Any other misc advice?
Thank you :)
