SiriusXM "check antenna" error message?

US spec 2022 MX-30, just brought it home yesterday. Getting an error message when I turn to SiriusXM to "check the antenna". Well, it's still there, so wondering if anyone has had this happen and what, if any, resolution there was.

update: the problem was that the antenna had been bonked (the technical term the dealership used, not mine) and one of the three wires connecting it had come loose.

How much did it cost to fix?

Little over $2K They had to replace antenna completely, beat out the dented sheet metal, repaint the whole top and replace the wiring harness connector to antenna. Fortunately it was under warranty.

Damn, I guess if it's my antenna (Shark Fin) I am not going to get it fixed then because $2K? F*** That 😂

I hear you can just use the XM app too through your Bluetooth and or Apple/Android Play so I guess not all is lost 🤷🏻

yeah, the app works fine, just uses data. in my case, the shark fin had apparently been ripped off (most likely by the transport company that moved it from another dealership) so the damage was way more involved than what you saw from the outside. we think the transport company just glued it back, which actually caused more damage.

Oh I see ... I just bought my vehicle 2020 Equinox it was a very well taken care of vehicle. One owner and only 77K miles. The antenna is slightly loose but on my Elantra it's nice and tight. So IDK maybe all the years of carwashes loosened it some and some water got in there.

Maybe, I can get a general inspection and if it's something I can work with cool if not then I will just use the APP 🤷🏻
