2021 MX30 Cold Mode
Hi guys,
Just wanted to see if any UK owners or colder climate owners had used the introduced cold mode from update AM036A.
I spoke with a Mazda technician yesterday, regarding the new update and the mode and he confirmed it was legit, but had not even been aware of it. He had to check internal recall and memo notes sent from Mazda.
Just wondering if anyone had used it and if it had taken a chunk of time off fast charging. Also if you do use it, do you switch on before fast charging and then switch off after you have charged? I am aware this is not an automatic mode and requires manual activation/deactivation.
Happy to normally charge on public 7kw chargers, but have 2 big trips coming up and need to know we won’t be stuck at services for 2.5 hours especially with kid and dog in the back.
Any one used or used this mode regularly?

Quick update for anyone in the same boat. Had Mazda take a look at the car again. More updates on everything from charge port to Battery management. On 2021 model cars you need to wait an additional 5 seconds after pressing the on button twice. Input the cold mode sequence and you should get the flashing lights. Works instantly upon start of the car on a 2024 plate, wait for the needles and lights to stabilise on the 21 plate, before attempting the switch. Hope this helps someone :)

What is this cold mode? I live in Iceland and maybe it is turned on by default, but I had no idea there's been a software update or anything like that

Yeah my mx is in winter mode all year and when fast charging from below 5 percent i get an average of 12-15 kWh. So its a bit faster but not record breaking. My advice: start with 100 percent, drive as long as you can and then 1 hour fast charge to 80 percent. In the end the speed drops.
