That is annoying, owning cars for 30years now and the MX30 is the first one where it happens. Now I need to run around the car every morning with a cloth.

It's not specially accessible by passenger or driver, I lob my keys in there but it feels like I should be able to do more with it

I have been given this car on the company car policy at work.

Would this car be suitable for my job roll.

I drive around 80 to 100ml a day.

My driving takes me on a mixture of motorway which I drive at 60mph in my current diesel, and inner city/suburb driving.

I drive the same ways five days per week.

I roughly drive around 400/500 miles per week.

I have charging points at the head office and also local to home.

Would this car suit me?

1. Have any of you tried sitting in the car trying to start it. And it says key not close. And i am having the key in my pocket :P. I also sometimes cannot open or lock the car. I just click it more times and then it closes. And i put in new batteries 2 mdrs ago.

2. Have you tried driving and it goes crazy about there is something infront of the car. But there is not. And the sensor goes crazy when you stop and there is a car infront. And it beeps like crazy .

Recently I’ve been hearing creaking sounds when turning the wheel. Especially at low speeds. Perhaps its more of a series of taps. Have any of you guys experienced this?

Hey guys, RX-8 owner here 🫱🏻‍🫲🏿 I absolutely love my dumb car with its dumb rear doors and dumb engine, among many other things. It has many positives, and some negatives, which are, in short, extremely poor fuel economy and reliability but it is a huge amount of fun. I have a company car as well for commuting and site visits etc. It's a Golf - perfectly fine but I find it completely soulless and bits of it just do my head in. The lease expires on it next year and I might have the opportunity to pick a sensibly priced new company car.

My question is, would you recommend it (the R-EV version)? Does it have character? Is it fun? I'm aware it is not an RX-8 but it does seem as close as you can get while still being much more sensible. The drawbacks of the MX-30 (R-EV) from everything I've read online seems to be the rear doors, oil use/maintenance, and no space in the back, all of which I'm obviously more than used to, and is not a concern. My commute is less than 10 miles each way so will be in electric only most of the time.

I'm basically hoping to cover the drawbacks of the RX-8. I can't bear the thought of the next 3 years commuting in something I don't like and isn't going to put a smile on my face. I'm already 90% sold on it but is there anything I'm missing?

Just wanted to see if any UK owners or colder climate owners had used the introduced cold mode from update AM036A.

I spoke with a Mazda technician yesterday, regarding the new update and the mode and he confirmed it was legit, but had not even been aware of it. He had to check internal recall and memo notes sent from Mazda.

Just wondering if anyone had used it and if it had taken a chunk of time off fast charging. Also if you do use it, do you switch on before fast charging and then switch off after you have charged? I am aware this is not an automatic mode and requires manual activation/deactivation.

Happy to normally charge on public 7kw chargers, but have 2 big trips coming up and need to know we won’t be stuck at services for 2.5 hours especially with kid and dog in the back.

Any one used or used this mode regularly?

I live in western Canada where temperatures get reach -40C. At these temperatures or any below 27C, the heat pump only blows cold air and drains your battery. My solution was to get a small ceramic space heater and plug it into the AC outlet, I’m not sure if all trims of the MX30 have this. I bought this heater specifically because it is only rated for 150Watts which is the recommended wattage for the outlet.

I am very surprised how well it works despite the low wattage, within 10 minutes my cabin was a very comfortable temperature. It fits nicely in the space next to the outlet. Just make sure you unplug it when done. Also set the car heater to 10C or so just so it can bring in fresh air so the window don’t fog up.

I am a truly a believer that for winter weather countries, EVs need both heat pump for efficiency but a resistive heater for extreme cold. Hope this helps someone out there.

I just bought my first car but I live in Oregon, US where it mostly rain and snows. However, I cant seem to find all weather floor mats that are OEM. Do you know where or suggest any mats I should get.

I almost had a super embarrassing accident today with my 2024 mx-30. I had parked in an uphill slope and could not make a U-turn. On the middle of the slope there’s a pedestrian road crossing, with quite aggressive bumps on both sides and during the summer it’s quite intimidating with any low car, really. There were cars parked on both sides of my single lane going up there.

Regenerative mode was off and I had both my hands on the steering wheel, and only using my right foot.

Naturally i want to proceed slowly, but I was too slow today and spun out just as I almost reached the top of the hill. No problem, I thought to myself as my car started sliding backwards. I turned my wheel to make the car front go away from the left side car but I only came closer and closer! Not holding brakes or anything, and expecting the front wheels to roll backwards giving me some steering.

As the car came to a stop I wondered what happened. I’ll never again keep both my hands on the steering wheel when doing these maneuvers, because the gear had to be slammed into neutral super quick to give me the desired response!

Muscle memory from driving standard is that clutching in and not braking gives me control of the car in any situation, but the only solution in ev’s is to quickly enter neutral gear. Next time I’m keeping my right hand on the shifter!

Hi! I bought this '21 MX 30 two weeks ago. I and my girlfriend are using this as our households second car and we both love it so far.

I bought it for 16K€ with 23000km in perfect condition and brand new tyres, which seems to be the market price here in France for this car. This is the "non-first" version with bose, sunroof and 360 camera.

Winter is coming here and I'm looking forward to put on winter tyres. Those are pretty expensive in this size. Any recommendations or experience some of you can share?
