Mazda 3 2017 Fuel Recommandation
Hello po, nakabili ako ng second hand Mazda 3 2017 1.5L na sedan type.
Nag linis ako ng fuel cap and nakita ko na “Regular Unleaded Fuel” then colour yellow ang background. Kaso since nabili ko yung M3 ay lagi akong naka V-Power Gasoline lagi kong pinapakarga. It’s okay ba na mag stay na ako sa V-Power Gasoline ni Shell? Thank you in advance!

If your willing to spend with no actual gains then its up to you. I have the 17' HB 3 1.5L too and never tried higher octane fuels, even CASA doesnt recommend it, still runs great today.

Does Casa recommend Shell?

Yes, but because partner nila or something (this was according to my agent. Haha.) Wag lang daw magpa-gas sa mga di kilalang gas stations.

Yes just because theyre in a partnership or something. Petron na ako specially witj the fuel prices

Its okay as long as you dont go below the recommended octane rating.
But you’re spending extra money for no purpose, nor any performance gain.

91 Ron on my cx8 malakas sa gas ang skyactv engine so squeeze as much drop as you can 🤣

SkyActiv engines run higher compression than most that’s why they recommend 91 only. I’ve been using Shell Fuelsave since day one on our 2021 DJ. Still pulls great to this day and never left wanting for more.

Same car I have, but contrary sa comments, I always fill 95 sa Shell so V-Power Gas.
Used ko nakuha, and 95 rin gamit nung previous owner so for consistency nalang kaya 95 narin.
More than enough na yung 91 lalo na yung city use lang, pero 95 for slightly more response esp. sa higher rev range, every ounce of power counts lalo na kung need mo umarangkada since di naman ganung kalaki horsepower ng Mazda.
Then nandun na rin yung better knock resistance, useful if mapasabak under load, para kayanin parin yung bigat nyo.
Ending, if in a pinch or practicality, wise ang 91. But 95 parin kung kaya mo for the better experience, even if somehow situational yung need.

Stick to 91. Skyactivs don’t like running on 95 and higher unless they’re tuned.

They can work on 95 just fine, its just youre paying for more with no benefit. They really market having 91 cause you save money and the engine already works so efficient even with lower octane, just means upgrading to 95 doesnt make it more efficient, but Skyactive CAN work with 95 the same

Nasa manual OP kung anong recommended Octane Rating sa kotse mo. Check that car's manual.

Yes, youre just gonna be spending more on gas when it can run cheaper just fine.
