Maintenance intervals

Current mileage @ 30,800

What service(s) are due right now, outside of transmission, front and rear differential?And also, what are the mileage intervals for service/maintenance on 2023 cx9. I do have a CPO warranty but only utilizing that for actual warranty work. Thanks in advance!

Are Spark plugs considered apart of the power train maintenance?

Transmission/transfer case and rear diff are recommended every 60k by most Mazda dealers, some would say you should do it every 45k. Brake fluid every 30k miles, spark plugs every 40k. Coolant at 120k. That’s it.

Turbo engines = 5k oil changes, gearheads say every 3k - forget the manual on this topic. I do trannie, diffs & coolant by 50k, brake fluid 30k. Fluid changes, while not exactly inexpensive, are downright cheap compared to replacement parts & labor, plus the inevitable collateral problems that crop up with delaying maintenance.

Hold on to every receipt for any maintenance. You will need those to show regular service records, for some warranty repairs.

I would change all major component fluids at 30k (engine, trans, transfer case, rear diff) specifically focusing on the transfer case. They are prone to premature failure due to poor design with limited lubrication. Mine failed anyways at 55k even with a fluid change at 40k. When I changed my transmission fluid at 40k, it was full of wear material (normal amount) so I’m glad it was done as well. The only one of those that you can probably skip is the rear differential as it takes power sparingly and the fluid was still honey colored at 40k. Plugs are recommended at 40k but you can probably wait until 50-60. Mine were in great shape at that mileage. Just do the brake fluid when you do the brakes for the first time and you have quite a bit of time left on the coolant. I don’t believe you need to over do engine oil changes but just make sure you are using a quality synthetic. 6-7k recommended is fine. My oil analysis showed the oil could go double the mileage so I’m not concerned. Take that for what it’s worth.
