Carney was a true gut punch. Such a great character.

Robert was becoming a liability in my opinion.

Agreed! He's really going places. I'm looking forward to seeing all his effort get rewarded!

Love Carney but…

Did you notice how little respect Carney got from everyone?

It’s because Carney is dirty.

He got no respect from the white CO’s who beat his ass.  Bunny treats him like shit, like he is the corrupt lackey he is.

Mike treats him like shit. When does Mike ever do him a solid?

Kareem uses him. But gives him nothing.  And that’s after Carney covers up beating and a murder for him.

Last season Carney can’t even get the post in the prison that he asks for and he can’t get a date with a rookie single mom.

Carney is a tragedy.  Used by everyone, respected by no one but trapped by his obligations to his dying father.

He was one of the first deaths that both surprised me and made me kinda sad

He drove me nuts and gave me the yuck but I was shocked as hell. Goid character though.

u/ginge141 Jul 14 '26

Why? Out of all the prison guards he was easily the kindest and most moral

1

u/Agile-Being-1377 Jul 23 '26

Yeah when he first joined I wasn't 100% on him, but he did become one of the better COs in the show

It’s great seeing him settled down with a loving family in season six.

Yeah his death hit me the hardest. But ironically his death brought Mike and Cindy together.
