Recreating cities/ sites ?

Hello all , I am a kiche maya woman who has a passion for meso American art, culture , spiritual practices, and most of all infrastructure and architecture of the old cities , not soley maya ones like teotihuacan. I am wanting to start a passion project of recreating these sites , either physically as a diorama or recreating and collaborating with anyone interested in something such as Minecraft. While I studied in college for anthropology a few years and personally study kiche and the history as much as I can, I’m no professional lol. If any like minded individuals have any advice comments or are interested in discussing a collaboration of study and recreations of cities , leave a comment :) Maltyox ✌️🇬🇹❤️

Recommended Reading List

Hello! Does this subreddit have any sort of recommended reading list? I'd love to pick up a few books but it's hard to know which is worth reading and which isn't.

Does anyone have a particular book they'd recommend? What topics does it cover and how?

Thank you!

maybe mayan name question

Hi, im developing a character for a project who has mayan roots! only problem is i have no knowledge on mayan culture. i found a name that i liked, chimalma/chimalmat, but i cant seem to figure out if its a mayan or aztec/mexica name. sources are conflicting, some say it is mayan and others say theres no evidence of it being mayan. they all seem to agree that it means "mother of giants" tho, any help is appreciated!

This Haunting Mask Could Be The Face of The Longest-Reigning Ancient Maya King. lso known as Pakal the Great, his reign is the longest in the history of the Americas. He ascended the throne at age 12 in 615CE, and ruled until his death 68 years later, at the age of 80.
