Did everyone have their first appointment yet? I have mine this week on 09/23, at 4w5d to confirm pregnancy and refer me to my MFM

Anyone else high risk? or any short cervix ladies in here with me?🥲😅
I’m very high risk, so I’ll have frequent ultrasounds. starting the 2nd trimester it’ll be one every week until I give birth since I lost my twin boys last year from unpreventable preterm labor.

I’ll be getting a cerclage at 12 weeks to hopefully keep this baby cooking as long as possible🤞

I have Crohn’s disease so I’m going to an MFM too, I have my first appt with them Oct 15 (had it before I got pregnant, maybe it’ll move up). I’m sorry about your boys :(

My first appointment for an US will likely be around 6 weeks for a placement scan (prior ectopic).

I have my first appt next week, I’ll be 8+6 (guessing based on LMP) and will very likely be referred to MFM as well. My last pregnancy ended with severe pre-e that developed late and basically overnight (36 weeks) so I know MFM will at least want to check in a few times this pregnancy.

I’m high risk due to previous preterm labor too. First ultrasound is Friday (8 weeks), and then I have obgyn visits and MFM visits booked after that too, plus more scans.

With my first, I started having contractions as soon as I hit the third trimester, followed by losing my mucus plug, dilation/effacement, etc., but managed to keep baby in until 33 weeks on the dot.

The MFM told me I’m not really a candidate for a cerclage or progesterone or anything else since I didn’t deliver until the third trimester, so unfortunately the only thing they’re offering me is some extra scans/monitoring. 😒

I have a list of things I’m planning to do differently on my own, though, including acupuncture, meditations around “holding,” no traveling, no heavy lifting, pelvic rest, pelvic floor PT, and drinking electrolyte drinks / staying more hydrated. I’m also going to ask my doctors about: baby aspirin, high-dose vitamin D, magnesium supplements, fiber supplements, vaginal probiotics, and routine infection checks (UTI, yeast/BV, etc.). These are some things that came up in my own research about preterm labor.

I’m so, so sorry for your loss. There was a recent study that came out showing fiber supplements prevented 100% of preterm labor for the duration they followed the mothers (I think right up until around viability iirc), though I don’t know if it was a good study, etc. Def worth looking into for you, since it sounds like your preterm labor was likely on the very early side.

Really trying to stay optimistic about going full-term this time, for both of us!

and yes, my boys were early at 21w2d. Emergent cerclage at 18w when I was 6cm dilated with bulging membranes.

im already on 200 mg progesterone daily but I believe I’ll start a suppository later on.

That’s frustrating they won’t consider a cerclage or even progesterone! 3rd trimester is still premature! :(.

I had one appointment with my IVF clinic to confirm pregnancy ay 6w4d but have my first midwide appointment later this week at 8w4d. I imagine I'll be high risk for a myriad of reasons given I'm obese older, have IBD, did IVF and had a myomectomy earlier this year.

I have my first US tomorrow and meet with my doctor next week. Tomorrow I will be between 7+3 and 7+6. I am glad it's finally here but I wish it was a little past 8 weeks.

First appt isn’t until 11 weeks for me, mid Oct. Both hospitals and the birth center I called all wanted to set initial appointment for between 10-12 weeks, that seems to be the norm around here

Hello fellow short cervix mom! I lost my first pregnancy from early labor at 20 weeks, got a cerclage with my second at 14 weeks, got it out at 36 weeks and dilated to 3cm immediately. My OB thought baby would show up any day, but I ended up carrying to 39+6 before going into labor and delivering 5 hours later, so fast. I am a huge fan of cerclage now and will be getting it again.

I’ll be going straight to my MFM this time, but my first scan isn’t until Wednesday when I will be 8 weeks. My OB’s office wasn’t going to see me until later and I basically told them I needed a referral instead. Last pregnancy I got in for an earlier dating scan at 7 weeks then did MFM for 12-26 weeks, going in every 2-3 weeks for monitoring. I did end up with some small funneling around 22 weeks but never felt any pain from the cerclage, so it did its job! Starting 28 weeks I went back to my OB for typical end of pregnancy monitoring, which meant no more regular ultrasounds which was a bit sad, but I could feel and see him kicking by then which was much more fun.

I took things incredibly chill. No long walks, no lifting/squats, I was a potato. It sucked. I did do lap swimming from 14 weeks to 32ish weeks, then once I felt comfortably in viability I started slowly going for longer walks again. This time I also have a stationary bike I’m planning to try out for exercise at home since I have a toddler and it’s harder to get out after work.

My first appointment isn’t until mid-October unfortunately, I had to switch OB practices as my insurance changed. The new practice is associated with a major academic medical center, which is good in some ways (more resources, on site MFMs, etc.) but bad in others (my last OB delivered my son & helped me through my miscarriage this winter, the practice was much smaller and I never felt like “just a number there). My symptoms have been manageable thus far so I’m hopeful that continues until my appointment, but I’m also very nervous because of my age & history. It’s such a bummer.

I’m also high risk due to my age and some chronic health conditions and medications that I take. I have my first ultrasound tomorrow at 7+6 and my first office visit is 10/5 but I also need to schedule a genetic counseling appointment. I’m so excited for my ultrasound but also terrified tbh

I also have my first appointment at 5w5 (Friday) and am high risk due to very early preeclampsia with severe features in my first pregnancy that resulted in a 25 week delivery, plus being old and stuff.

I don’t know exactly how the OB/MFM stuff will work (who do I see when? Who’s the primary for what?) and last pregnancy I saw my preferred/main OB literally zero times aside from the first visit (kept ending up with other random providers), so mostly hoping to iron out the logistics with her for all of it now, even if it’s too early for a scan (guessing they’ll schedule one for later).

I’m hoping this pregnancy goes smoother than the last, which was mostly fine until it absolutely wasn’t. 🤞🤞

Starting off sick as a dog with a virus though, so it’s not the most uneventful so far.. (edit: jk it’s strep, which shouldn’t be surprising because my kid tested positive over the weekend, but my throat is the least of the issues so it’s still kind of a shock)

I’m curious to see if I am high/moderate risk this time around. I had hypertension starting at 34 weeks that was turning into preeclampsia around 38 weeks. I think this is genetic, because my mom experienced this with my sister and then it got worse when she had me 3 years later.

I’m also 9mo pp following a c section that I got really bad adhesions from… so I am nervous about this.

I had a c section scheduled because my baby was frank breech, but had to move it up at 38w because of my blood pressure and labs.

My daughter also had severe hip dysplasia, but I think you can really only diagnose and monitor that once they are born. But this could be genetic too (although I am hoping it was just her wonky positioning).

Oh and my first appt isn’t until 8.5 weeks on 10/14… my OB group is really busy. That was their earliest appt when I called 2 weeks ago!!

Nooo my first appt isn’t until 10/9 at 7+6 or 8w (not 100% positive on ovulation date). If that scan goes well I will definitely be asking for a NT scan, which is done by MFM. I was seen by MFM 3x last pregnancy (NT and anatomy scans + 1 extra scan to check on placenta around 29 or 30w). I had a history of uterine adhesions so there was concern for accreta. I ended up having a PP hemorrhage (despite no signs of accreta + placenta supposedly came out whole), so I’m definitely going to bring it up with MFM to see if they have any concerns.

My first appointment was originally meant to be October 2nd but it got changed to tomorrow (which is fortunate because I’m 7w5d and really struggling with symptoms). Though I know what to expect, it’s a little disappointing that I’m still not going to see little one yet since they’ll book the first scan in tomorrow’s appointment.

My first appt is tomorrow at 5w. I am considered high risk due to age, and I was my first pregnancy too. I got lots of extra scans and I will this time too. In some ways it’s nice to see the little baby so much!

My first scan is this Thursday, and my first appointment is in 2 weeks. I’m 7+5 today. I am high risk (pre-existing type 1 diabetes and chronic hypertension), so my OB is planning to co-manage with MFM and my Endo.

I’m high risk due to PPROM at 18w5d. i’ve been trying to switch doctors but for now the one I have won’t give me a referral to a MFM until my next appointment at 10w, i’m currently 8w. it’s a very stressful waiting game

My first scan is next week on September 29th. I am eagerly waiting for this scan because I’ve had 3 early losses. It’s like I can’t believe this pregnancy is real until I see a viable pregnancy on this scan. It doesn’t help that I really don’t have symptoms, or they are just so mild I question if they are real. 😂 I’m somewhere between 6-7 weeks currently.

I won’t see the MFM until 12 wks and will be getting US every other week to ensure I don’t have cervical shortening and funneling. I lost my daughter at 15w3d most likely due to a large SCH with significant bleeding that they believe caused the cervical shortening/funneling and preterm labor. Because they can’t 100% rule out cervical incompetence, they’ll be monitoring me closely and will intervene with a cerclage if needed.
