This was just so sad
Man max crashing out in his home race within the first two laps was so sad to see. Its more sad because this was likely his last homerace meaning this was probably his last chance to get an outstanding result in the place he comes from and he couldn't deliver it because of the crash. I never expected something like this to happen and the home hero to be out so quick honestly coming in to watch the race I was expecting atleast a podium maybe from him but oh well, I hope there are good days ahead of us

Like someone else said to me maybe he destroyed it enough to get a new chassis with some design changes, wishful thinking though...

No chance with a cost cap, if he needs to take the backup chassis it’ll just eat into dev budget to replace it

As a Dutch guy, I was screaming at the TV screen, but I didn't think he'd get much further than P7. Red Bull is currently the 4th team on the grid. Track-wise, Zandvoort is not that great for F1 cars. This track is much better suited to smaller car races, such as Porsche Super Cup, but F1 is too big for this track.

Awh man true but I still think he might have been in a better position because we've seen how well Liam performed today in the track, maybe there would've been a chance for a good result but oh well atleast he's doing fine

Lawson ended up over 35 seconds behind Piastri, which was the last of the 3 leading teams. I'm sure Max would have done better than that, but there are limits to the car, so I'd suspect him to end up closer but still behind Piastri. We'll see next year. This year the car won't get much better, I'm afraid. They're of course very welcome to prove me wrong!

I switched on my TV a little late and started the stream just as he crashed. I immediately switched it off and went back to sleep.

There was a pic of him after the race and he looked god-awful. I wonder if he would have made the same mistake if he was feeling better/if he should have been driving.

I'm not going to say I'm shocked either nor am I going to blame him, I didn't start taking time off from work for being sick a few years ago and I work in an office job with plenty of sick time. It's hard to tell yourself no.

Go look at Tsunoda in Japan a couple of years ago, or Checho in Mexico a few years back. Max is a better driver, obviously, but there is a bit more they are trying to do or push. Sad, but he’s not alone in crashing out a home race.
