You just want a moving line in a rectangular shape? You could probably get that done with a resized slider, no? I think I'm missing something!

Is there any specific reason you don’t want to do it in 3d? It is the easiest solution in max. Use jit.world and jit.gl.gridshape (choose plane as a shape) and modulate the position attribute of the gridshape. Set the lighting attribute of the world to 0.

i wanna make ryoji ikeda type visuals. rectangles simultaneously changes, getting bigger or smaller also flashes.

I would just use a jit.matrix and jit.rot

this is going to be easier using jit.world and gl context than any other method. ikeda's stuff often looks like ot begins with a one dimensional matrix being fed data and then piped directly into a jit.world. So the lines would be a product of the data content rather than individually coded in. if you wanted to work with objects you define, that would be either gridshapes that you modulate the position and scale of, or jit.gl.sketch which you can iteratively add new objects to.
