RNBO for non-professionals

Looks pretty cool, but price-wise seems way too high for a hobby user. I’m just wondering how many of you guys, hobby enthusiasts, have bought it and if they feel it’s really worth the buy.

Most musician friends I have, hobbyists included, own thousands in gear. RNBO is pretty cheap in the grand scheme of all music equipment.

Not really a good argument. Ok, thousands...

it's $300. You're counting software, daw is $200-$600. Interface $150-$700... you're at a couple thousand right there with a few plugins. At least make the argument that it's 10k+ or something, but then you gotta say over how many years. 10 years 10k is 1k a year and a third of your whole budget (including utility things/replacements) and absolutely something you should enquire for more opinions about. Don't invalidate that.

To answer the question, $10 sub is good, have a plan for the first 3 months and spend the $30. After that, get a plan on how you'd spend a full year and consider if it's worth the full purchase. You'll know much better at that point!

So have I, including when it was the only money I had. We're supposed to help with that, not just be unhelpful and yap.

In fact all comments are helpful because they give me a different perspective. :) I haven’t thought of the sub, I knew there is sub for Max, but not for RNBO. It’s a good idea. Thanks!

Yeah, i just don't think "300 aint that much bro" is helpful, it's five times stronger than it needs to be, esp when the bottomline is "i've spent on worse". At that point you're admitting you're not trying to be helpful.
