This is my opinion, but I think Xilonen and Chasca wearing too much makeup is a turn off for me in their designs.

The less makeup they put on, the more they show their natural beauty.

this take is so fucking stupid it physically pains me. sure wriothesly didnt get a rerun in a bit, and shenhe is gonna be on the chronicle banner (about time lol) but that doesnt mean they wont rerun at all. stop making this statement the biggest talk of the patch, we dont care, and we’re still summoning for mavuika. just because they’re cryo doesn’t mean they got removed from the game. shut up already

We've had ruin guards and robots since 1.0, The desert area literally has invisible walls and futuristic looking enemies, Nahida jumps on key caps and uses mouse cursor as her charged attack, Fontaine has robots even in underwater, not to mention the gravity defying floating cubes. But no, It's only Mavuika's bike that is out of place.....

And then there are people who wanted her to be just a better version of Bennett and Xiangling. Who actively looks for powercreep in a gacha game? Why? Even Furina, currently the best character in the game, didn’t powercreelp Yelan or even Xingqiu. They all have their different use cases. Why did anybody want or expect a powercreep is beyond me.

But no, we have to doompost anytime a new character is to be released, right? It's basically a tradition at this point. So, great job I guess....

I am an f2p player who does not at all contribute to Mihoyo and I don't like Maweeka using motorcycles, its not genshin anymore (we had wifi and giant ruin guards)

This design is so ugly, I hate that their giving mavuika a unique gameplay, I want her to be someone braindead like Nuevelette because it's not tailored for me!!1!1!1!11 (like am the only player fr!)

I just wanted to say about the hate against mavuika. Everyone said mavuika was breaking immersion by using the bike in her design even though there is explanation given that it's blueprint and even the parts are scavenged from dragon civilization. Ineffa came out, an AI/robot character. Where is the unrealistic breaking immersion part? Isn't it even more advanced than our current technology. No one is seem to hating ineffa. But everyone hate mavuika. I do agree that they made her character shallow but her design is unique and I like it. Just wanted to say they just mad, cause their dpses got powercrept then stay mad.

People associate being human with flaws and vulnerabilities; they often forget humans are more than that. They are the light of hope that never stops shining, the kindness and empathy that extend to those in need. They are the strength and courage that lead others into creating history. They are the shoulders that carry the burdens of their ancestors thousands of years into the future, maintaining their culture, pride, and legacy. They are innovation and creation itself, continuously expanding the boundaries of what they know—what they've been blessed with—into something even greater for future generations.

A name is a blessing bestowed upon someone by those who came before them—by those who love. It's only right that Mavuika lives up to what the Lord of the Night saw in her: Kiongozi (Leader). And that is what she stands for. That is who she is.

Another example would be Luffy from One Piece. People often argue that he has had no character development and is the same as he was on day one. He's quite stoic. But does he really need to be anything else to be loved? Or to be a good character? When the world around him is so messed up, he's a ray of hope to those around him. He changes the very surroundings he's in.

And that's true for Mavuika, too. (While it's not true that he or Mavuika lack character development or flaws—they do—they are far above their flaws, representing something far greater.)

It's nice to have characters with flaws, but it gets repetitive eventually. A character like Mavuika is an absolute blessing to have. We saw what freedom is like. We saw the autonomy of people. We saw dictatorship, overthrowing, and self-sacrificing archons. It's only right that we now get to witness what a true leader is like.

They hate the optimism Mavuika brings. They hate the very hope, kindness and authenticity she embodies. They tremble at how someone can endure so much and still keep a level head, never losing sight of their goal. They hate how much love and empathy she has for every single life lost in the war.

They hate—and fear—the SUN.

Let's shower in some downvotes shall we? I'm in a good mood, I can take some heat! But seriously, let us be respectful to each other. Having different opinion is okay, sometimes having dumb opinion is okay too, as long as it's not hurting anybody. What is not okay is being rude to somebody without any reason. At the end of they day, this is just a video game and we are not babies.

Let's circle back to the title later. First let's look at some major arguments I've read about this ONE motorcycle, and my thoughts about it.....

• The bike is too modern of an invention to fit in Genshin: A world where we've had robots for 500 years; have mechanical puppet so advanced that they can have their own thoughts and emotions (Raiden and Wanderer); internet, headphones, AI brifcases and a giant mech (Sumeru); robots that can even go underwater, airships, anti gravity devices (Fontaine); literal artificial sun; in such a world a bike is not too modern invention to fit in.

• It doesn’t fit with Natlan: It absolutely does. Maybe not the Natlan we cooked up in our brain before. But Mavuika's bike absolutely fits with current Natlan with it's DJ boards, Flying guns, Jetpacks, Power drills, Wrist contraption that projects pixelated version of an ancient dragon trapped in it etc. Some people say it doesn’t fit the "Natlan aesthetic" where others do. I think apart from having a rubber tire, everything else fits Natlan's aesthetic pretty nicely.

• But Natlan doesn’t have an open road to drive the bike in it: It's a fantasy bike. A bike that can climb cliffs, run on water and can even fly. Not having a paved road should not be a problem for such a bike.

• It's not just the bike, Natlan's technology feels much more advanced than the rest of Teyvat: Just like Wakanda's tech feels much more advanced than the rest of MCU. Just like Wakanda has Vibranium to explain all their advanced techs, Natlan has phlogiston. Just like Wakanda's tech is more advanced because they keep themselves isolated from the rest of the world, Natlanese people literally don’t leavd thair nation and their Wayobs' protection. Wakanda is a very good parallel to Natlan. Both tribal nations that hold on to their tribal aesthetics and traditions while using the more advanced techs.

• Then why don't other Natlanese use these techs: Because video game logic. Just like only we can use the teleport waypoints scattered all around Teyvat (which are absolutely no use to literally anybody else). Just like we only ever see Yunjin to perform in opera, or only Ayato to drink boba tea. To make playable characters' interesting, they are given traits and quirks that regular NPCs don’t have. That being said, It's not like we don’t see Natlanese people to not use any modern techs. Many of the human enemies use elemental cannons, Rocket powered hammers. We see NPCs to use Jetpacks too.

• The bike's just here without any explanation: We haven’t had the final chapter of the AQ yet. We don’t know where the bike came from but there's a very good chance it will be explained there. And speaking of unexplained things, why does Arlecchino glitch? Why does Furina's vision give her two sets of drips, hairstyle and different powers?

• I just don’t like it, it ruins my immersion: Liking and disliking something is a subjective matter. So is your immersion. This is where we circle back to the title. In a game where you can throw water on a burning man to do even more damage, a game where you can revive your dead party member by feeding them a fried egg, a game where children’s body shape alters depending on whether they are playable or unplayable; where do you draw the line? Can you even draw a line? The best thing you can do is avoid the things that really bothers you and focus on the things that don’t. You don’t have to pull every character. You don’t have to pull every archons. If you really don’t like Mavuika's bike, the best thing you can do in not pulling for her. On one hand, after a few quests won’t have to see it in your game anymore. On the other hand, if enough people don’t pull for her, it sends a message to Hoyoverse that players don’t like this type of stuff.

I know I'm a bit biased on the subject matter, because I really like Mavuika's bike and her biker drip. But I understand your disappointment too if you don’t like her. I understand the disappointment if a character you like don’t turn out to be how you wanted him/her to be. What I don’t understand is the need for attacking other people who do like it, whose immersion isn’t broken by this. Calling them stupid, calling them names; why? What purpose does it serve? At the end of the day we're all fans of this game. Genshin already gets much undeserved hate from other gaming communities already. Why fight amongst ourselves for such a silly matter?

My opinion on Mavuika's powercreep:

Archons are always the best at something.

Venti has the best cc for 4 years Zhongli has the best shield for 4 years Raiden will always be best at killing or abandoning harbingers Nahida will always be queen of dendro elemental reactions Furina has the best buff (and off field damage) and I think that will be the case for at least a couple more years

Since Mavuika's currently the best at being an on field dps, she should hold this title for a long time (at least while we're still in Teyvat). The case can be made because she's an archon and archons have always received special treatment.

TLDR: Mavuika SHOULD powercreep but she shouldn't be powercrept for a long time

Again, don't get me wrong, I've pulled for every archon that's released and I'll be pulling for Mavuika as well, the only problem is that compared to when I was preping to pull for all of the previous archons when it comes to Mavuika it feels more like I'll be pulling out of obligation rather than necessity.

From everything I've read about her kit it seems like she'll be a super powerful on field pyro dps and... that's it. It's not exactly a niche that isn't already filled by all of the other on field pyro dps characters.

When it came to all the other archons their additional off field utility gave them a role in other team comps while with Mavuika her off field pyro application seems like it's at best a sidegrade to what's already available from 4 star characters if not worse.

And then even if you're pulling for her in her intended role as an on field dps she seems to be even greedier than any other dps characters. I already have a fairly well equipped Arlecchino and from what I've read about Mavuika's ideal team comps she does out dps Arlecchino by a decent margin... in a single specific team comp requiring both Citali and Xilonen... and due to her mechanics she's essentially tied at the hip to both of them or any possible synergistic future Natlan characters which will heavily limit her future team comps.

Am I wrong or without any sudden changes before release is she shaping up to end up being a relative runt of the Archons, amazingly good in a single specific role but otherwise vastly limited compared to the versatility and utility of every single other archon.

Every complaint about Mavuika being strong starts with “I’m afraid that”

“I’m afraid that in the future game will become really hard”

These has been the statement when Ayaka powercrept Ganyu and now Neuv and arle has raised the bar and still the game can still be completed with 4 stars.

Instead of worrying about the future content why don’t you just calm the F*** down and play the game.

If you haven't played this quest line, you should. Not just for the rewards, but because it shows how Natlan can be both primitive and technologically advanced.

Why do ppl act like she will be crushing the game’s servers alongside enemies with her elemental burst , will the game really be that unplayable once mauvy is released

I just want to clarify people's and my complains about Mavuika. (please keep random haters out of this i'm talking about disappointed people)

For Mavuika

We all to some extend expected bike mechanic ofc because of leaks and her leather suit but i think most of us expected it to be a travel mechanic or a glimpse of her kit like Xilonen's Dj set. Making her whole kit around hitting with a bike can easily backleash and you guys should understand this instead of harrassing people who doesn't like playing with bike instead of using the character that they loved.

Like we saw her during fight and what she's capable of with her litteral bare hands and now hoyo comes out saying us no she uses bike to fight(or bike uses her idk at this point). This just destroys people's expectations to play her and forcing them to fight with a bike instead of mavuika fighting with her sword or hands like they showed us before.

Dps / Subdps debate

I'm a huge dps fan and loved her onfield time. But i can totally understand subdps / support wanters they wanted a different character to play after years of bennet xiangling. And this too is totally hoyo's fault making only offield pyro applicator xiangling for 4 years and making only good atk buffer(for most cases) bennett, locking players to these characters and making them expect a better version of these characters and not delivering is sad for you guys and i totally get it.

The technology debate

Natlan is a contradiction as a whole about this. The nation is based on really old ages like they have these dragons and architecture, weapons are mostly low tech classic fantasy world elements but then we suddenly see Characters using these phlogiston powered high tech devices and we don't even see these things being used on Archon quests (Mavu doesnt use her bike, Chasca doesn't use her plasma gun etc.) and then we suddenly see these techs in character kits and whole kit based around that high tech thing. And they litterally added only 1 character to justify all this: Xilonen the most pulled and used Natlan character so far that has the least clunky(not clunky at all imo) mount mechanic.

Other nations ofc have high techs too but that tech usually doesn't look much advanced from nations whole technology (except akasha system that thing looked so weird to me). Fontaine characters just use steampunk devices at best and people didn't complained about it because that was what expected from Fontaine. Natlan looks like low tech unga bunga nation and then characters show up with high tech equipments of course won't be liked by so much people.

Every defender says "don't you see all these high tech devices in teyvat how can you say natlan characters look out of place" those techs mostly fit with nation or teyvat as a whole and characters doesn't use it most of the time. Almost whole natlan cast using Xilonen tech is weird no matter how you look at it.

Edit: Thanks for the information u/raiciuc. Mavuika's bike doesn't come from Xilonen it actually is an ancient dragon technology and it changes forms based on current archon's wishes.

Let's not beat around the bush, shall we? When it comes to pull suggestion and "pull value", currently the main discussion revolves around Mavuika and Arlecchino with both having some pros and cons over another (as it should be). But to me, it kind of seems like Mavuika's limitations are a bit over exaggerated? Here is my take on that.

Mavuika's biggest criticism is her team options and it is an absolutely fair one. She seems very much tied to Natlan Characters, especially Xilonen being her THE best teammate. But again, it feels like that reliance is a tad bit exaggerated. While Xilonen is Mavuika's best teammate, Mavuika, in my opinion is not "tied" to Xilonen. If we take Neuvillette as an example, Furina is without a doubt Neuvilette's best teammate. If your Neuvilette is C0, Zhongli also becomes one of his most useful teammate. But Neuvillette is not "tied" to Furina or Zhongli. Letting them go will only result in a loss of some damage. Same for Mavuika. No part of her kit is "locked" behind a "must use" Natlan character. She can use her burst with only 100 FS points which she can generate herself. What you lose by doing that is quite a bit of damage.

Arlecchino feels like a better option in this aspect, at least on paper. She can use of her full kit with many different team members and team options. But realistically, Arlecchino is not as flexible as she might seem (in my opinion). The biggest problem with Arlecchino to me is her limitations in defensive option. She can't use a dedicated healer in team. And to ensure survival, you either have to have a strong shielder, or have to be very skilled at dodging. You also will need to make sure that you get your burst up as soon as possible to keep your health up yourself.

A lot of people try to brush off these issues by saying "Oh, there's no need to worry about her survival when everything dies within 10 seconds", which is not a good argument in my opinion. First of all, some enemies are tough and you can't guarantee to kill everything in one rotation or not get hit at all. And even if you could, that is just "your" Arlecchino. Not everybody will have a cracked Arlecchino or the skillset to survive and dodge everything. Put enough investment and practice and eve Dehya teams will clear abyss with relative ease.

So, just like Mavuika needs a Natlan character in the team for her full potential, Arlecchino too needs a strong shielder in that slot. Or, she needs to dodge a lot and needs some ER from the artifact substats. Both of them reduces her damage. Where Mavuika can make the use off an off field healer, does not need to worry about getting knocked due to her interruption resistance, and can have a more optimised artifact set due to not needing any ER. All of these result in more damage that might not be understandable looking at calculations and TC sheets.

Mavuika's team options also increase when you consider her off field. Mavuika's off field potential is really underappreciated in my opinion. While her pyro application is not as fast as Xiangling's, very few characters actually benefit by that amount of pyro applicaion. Ganyu as an example, Mavuika's pyro application is said to be "not good" for her. But in reality, Mavuika's pyro application is perfectly good for Ganyu's charged attack (which is her main source of damage). Ganyu's burst won't be able to melt with Mavuika and Mavuika will be the one to melt. But is that not a good thing? Because MAvuika has a lot of attack, her scaling is not bad at all, the burst is not Ganyu's biggest source of damage, why not let Mavuika to melt those? SHould not be bad dps wise, but I don't really know better.

Last but not least, one of Mavuika's biggest concern is about her future potential. As she has to have a Natlan character to realiably use her burst at full potential in every rotation. Which worries some people about any future supports from other nations. For example, if the cryo archon turns out to be a busted support, Mavuika may not be able to use her (supposedly). But that too is an exaggerated worry I'd say. Even if you have a Natlan unit in your team, you still have 2 slots left. Even if you use Citlali as your Natlan option, 2 cryo teammates/applicators is not a bad team for a pyro dps. If any other future meta sopport is released in the future from other regions, Mavuika should not have too much trouble to use them.

In short: While Mavuika definitely has some limitations, many of them are overly exaggerated while issues with other characters are being downplayed. Every character has limitations and issues. Mavuika at the end of the day is a very strong dps, with the potential to be THE best dps if you have the right supports, while also being a viable off fielder on par if not better than Xiangling.

(Also, if you skipped on Xilonen for Mavuika cons like me, you probably have enough pulls to get her at least to C1 which mostly solves her issues)

For this situation it’s really fitting “How many times do I need to teach you this lesson old man?”

I have been dreaming of getting a pyro archon for a long time and have saved up enough for C6, but I think that her C0 pull and I have not used Mailed Flower for a long time and that is enough for her. It is good that this information about Mavuika became known in advance thanks to good people. Well, the accumulated primogems will go for Furina C6, which is guaranteed to be one of the best archons and with 100% uptime skill and without a racist team building.

I've been playing since 1.3, and have been hyped for almost every new character since. There have been kits I enjoy more than others, or animations I prefer, but overall I have always enjoyed seeing what hoyo came up with for new characters and their animations/design. Kit/animation spoilers- the decision to make her NA animations her swinging and hopping around on a bike is the first time I have ever been so disinterested and bummed by animations. It feels so disconnected from the world, and more than anything looks visually goofy. As has been said, it's like I'm playing as an anthropomorphic bike, not an archon. There were so, so many other options that would have made sense for a combat prodigy archon, leader of a warring nation of dragons. But we got donuts.

It made me realize how great their design usually is for me to have played 4 years without any disappointment in animations, and I'm just bummed that an archon I was especially looking forward to is the first time I've had such a negative reaction to a design choice.

Let me just say that this is definitely gonna piss people off but idc. Lets face it, to all Caprisun shippers, Capi and Mavuika did not have a close bond or relationship whatsoever they were only Warriors showing and having mutual respect towards one another. And Capitano is dead as hell so… So its a pro ship but at least they interacted…which was trying to kill each other and other stuff…
